Week 43 Review: Guardian

From Goodreads:
Vigilance. The mission to safeguard Nikki Youngblood depends on the fragile alliance of two half-angel, half-human guardians, both struggling with intense feelings for the girl who has been assigned to their care. Mace, steadfast and deeply in love, wants to protect Nikki at all costs, while Raven's loyalty to Nikki finds him advocating for her independence and battling his own darker inclinations. At the same time, Nikki finds it harder and harder to choose between the two heavenly beings she may never have. Dangers intensify, and tensions between Mace and Raven flare as the purpose of their mission becomes clear. Can their defenses hold up to master manipulator Damon Vessler and the powerful secret he holds regarding Nikki's heritage? Can anyone protect Nikki from her true purpose and destiny?

My Review:
Oh, I enjoyed this book a lot! I loved the first book, and then having this book, where the stakes are higher, and we learn more of the world, and spend more time with the characters, yeah, that was really fantastic!

So after the ending of the last book, everybody's together, and they're planning. Because they know Damon is a threat to pretty much everyone, seeing as he has secrets about Nikki that affect everyone, and since it's him, it's in a bad way!

I have one little compliant. When time elapsed, it wasn't really said in a definitive manner for me, like "as the days passed" or "It had been a week since such and such happened" because it made things feel weird, you know? Not knowing how much time had passed does strange things to the mind!

Really enjoyed where it ended! After all the conflict and tension between Nikki, Mace, and Raven, and while that wasn't resolved, well, the truth about Nikki that Damon had, that's a pretty big game changer! Really fantastic ending!

Really loved this book, so great, and I can't wait for the final book!
