Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Follow Friday is hosted by 2 hosts, Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! For more rules and how to participate, visit one of the hosts. Now for this week’s question:
Q: This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother's Day. In celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?
A: None of the books I read is a strong mother/child relationship really there. I guess I might avoid them because I don't have one with my mom, or they might not be so common. Since more books right now are about the action, and the plot, not so much the emotions. Yep. What about you guys? Happy reading!
I had a hard time coming up with one. It seems like most books don't really feature parents.

The absence of mother's in YA is actually rather startling when I sat down to think about it. It took me awhile to come up with one.
ReplyDeleteMy follow friday. Hope you'll visit
I can't seem to think of a book with a good relationship between mother and her sons/daughters...
ReplyDeleteI found your post to be quite sad. I'm sorry you haven't had a strong relationship on which to base future opinions; but I assure you there are MANY strong relationships between mom and child in both the real world and the fictional one. Reading through all these blogs today may offer you some suggestions.... Little Women; The Red Tent; Irish Twins; The Harry Potter Series (Mrs. Weasly, I think, has received the most "votes."

Cheers
Yeah, it's more on the action :)
ReplyDeleteMe, neither :( Oh, well.
And since I don't really have any strong relationships, I doubt there will be any. Oh, I forgot about Mrs. Weasly, and the whole part in the movie, "Not my daughter, you B***h!" was quite funny :)
