Week 11 Review: Death, Doom, and Detention

From Goodreads:
The normal part of Lorelei MacAlister's life didn't just slip away quietly the day Jared Kovach came to town. Nope. The normal part of her life shattered. It exploded. It burst into a gazillion shards of fleeting light.

It went out with a bang.

Goodbye normal.

Hello dark and eerie.

While her best friend, Brooklyn, is focusing all of her energy on helping Lorelei hone her abilities, Lorelei is dealing with the reality that Satan's second in command has taken up residence inside her body. Oh, and the fact that she has a crush on the Angel of Death. But what a beautiful death it is. If those weren't bad enough, something sinister has come to town and it wants nothing more than to hear Lorelei's dying breath as it strangles it out of her. Thank goodness the gang has a supernatural champion. But what happens when the only being who can save them switches sides midstream? How can a group of misfits capture one of the most powerful beings ever created? And will they find out how to bring Jared back to them before it's too late?

My Review:
What an amazing book! Lorelei discovers more about her powers, we learn more about what Cameron is, kinda, by meeting watered down versions, except the fact that they are evil, and they bound Jared's light so he was dark, so yeah, there's that, and it's not very good for them!

So yeah, things happen-and Lorelei discovers that she can go into pictures, which is a very interesting ability, and she learns a lot, like for the fact that her paternal grandfather is alive. Furthering digging shows that he's in prison, for killing those that kidnapped, tortured, and killed his wife, trying to find Lorelei's location.

Oh, and then there was the Nephilim, the group that was part of the ones that her grandpa killed, but wasn't there at that time, so are still alive, and are still wanting to kill Lorelei, because they believe that their draw in life is unfair. The whole, "bind Jared's light" thing, because he's half light, half dark, was just to get rid of all her protectors, one by one, and it worked.

Oh, that ending! Running away, to keep everyone safe, leaving behind her friends, that was where Lorelei went wrong, she should've brought her gang with her, so then they'd all be safe, knowing that they were together, things would work out for the best, but no, she had to go off alone, and now I really want the last book now!

What about you guys, that ending kill you, too?
