Week 44 Review: Unspoken

From Goodreads:
Kami Glass loves someone she’s never met . . . a boy she’s talked to in her head ever since she was born. She wasn’t silent about her imaginary friend during her childhood, and is thus a bit of an outsider in her sleepy English town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. Still, Kami hasn’t suffered too much from not fitting in. She has a best friend, runs the school newspaper, and is only occasionally caught talking to herself. Her life is in order, just the way she likes it, despite the voice in her head.

But all that changes when the Lynburns return.

The Lynburn family has owned the spectacular and sinister manor that overlooks Sorry-in-the-Vale for centuries. The mysterious twin sisters who abandoned their ancestral home a generation ago are back, along with their teenage sons, Jared and Ash, one of whom is eerily familiar to Kami. Kami is not one to shy away from the unknown—in fact, she’s determined to find answers for all the questions Sorry-in-the-Vale is suddenly posing. Who is responsible for the bloody deeds in the depths of the woods? What is her own mother hiding? And now that her imaginary friend has become a real boy, does she still love him? Does she hate him? Can she trust him?

My Review:
This book was just full of awesome! I enjoyed it so much! They were just so awesome, they were just so hilarious, and smart, and insecure, and having to deal with the fact that the other is their imaginary friend that they've told, like, every detail of their life to the other, is read, which is not something most people do!

So I wouldn't want to live there! What with the Lyburns, and how they had to make it a law to not hurt people, that there were "sacrifices" and an abandoned house that they didn't go hang out, even though, that's like basic teenage behaviour!

The one scene where they break into the office? And it was Jared and Ash together, and Kami didn't know that, so when she told Jared that a break up provided a great distraction, yeah, so hilarious, he broke up with his cousin! That's just so Jared! So cute!

That ending! I wanted to hate Jared, but we know he's hurting. He didn't want the bond to be gone, and yet it is, and we know he hid his feelings, but he wasn't very nice there! I hope they patch things up! Because it's only book 1!

I enjoyed this book so much, it was really just laugh out loud funny, and cute, and I can't wait for the next book!
