The choices I had made led to the moment when fate took over. I would learn a lesson I wasn't prepared for. And Death would be my willing teacher.
Five years ago, Abbey Chandler cheated Death. She survived a horrific car accident, but her "lucky" break came at the expense of her mother's life and changed everything. After she crossed paths with Death—by taking the hand of an ethereal boy made of clouds and sky—she would never be normal again.
Now she's the target of Death's ravens and an innocent boy's life is on the line. When Nate Holden—Abbey's secret crush—starts to climb Alaska's Denali, the Angel of Death stalks him because of her.
And Abbey finds out the hard way that Death never forgets.
My Review:Oh, this was an awesome book! Abbey has a crush, and thinks she's spending time with him, but there's something strange, while Nate starts the climb of Denali, when his friend gets sick, and wanders away from camp. And the resulting avalanche, the conflict and action in this book were really great!
Told in alternating POV's of Abbey, Nate, and sometimes Abbey's best friend, and the one time views of Nate's parents, this was a compelling read, and unique in the Death being something that can take people over, and become them to pursue a romance because he's lonely. And thinking that he's Nate, Abbey is susceptible to that. The weird ravens aside, she feels really close to Nate, or who she thinks is Nate, but is actually Death.
And the ending? Well, I'm really glad that those 2 got together, they were really cute, and while it was sad that Death was left alone, well, he has Abbey's mom inside him, and someday, he might move on. So that was a bit sad, but he went around it the wrong way.
This was a really good book, one that I really enjoyed, and it was a quick read, and yeah. Hope you check it out!
