Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
My Review:
Can I say, Shatter Me is the first book I read in 2012. So yeah. Just wanted to mention that little tidbit. Next. OH MY GOSH, I LOVED THIS BOOK SO FREAKING MUCH!!!!! Juliette was an awesome narrator, seeing things in her own unique way, shaped by her experiences and her ability, how people treated her because of it, and some incidents. Yeah.
Loved the plot, so amazing, and I really wanted Warner to be good, or for him to stop being callous about human lives like he seemed to be. Apparently he'll seem better in book 2, and I'm really hoping for that, because having a bad guy turn good, or start to, or something, is better than nothing! And he's more then overshadowed by Adam, who is Juliette's only friend. And then there's the romance, which was epic! So amazing, can't wait for book 2!!!
The writing. What amazing writing! With Juliette's narration, well, just amazing, and unique, and so loveable! Really great, too, and perfect, and readable, and rereadable! Must read more of it!!!
This was just an amazing, spectacular, epic novel, that you just have to read! Go on, read it!!!!
