My Review:
So I'm coming into this series very late considering that the first book was published about 20 years ago, and has fans from them. And apparently this book was this book and A Dance of Dragons, but it got too big, and was split. Which is why there's pretty much none of my favourite characters, and pretty much all of my least favourite characters like Cersei. But oh, well. I still enjoyed this book!
This book felt more political then the others. There was a lot of politics in the previous one, but this book spent the bulk of it's time in Kings Landing, so as the capital, it's where all those big decisions are made by the rulers (except for battlefield decisions, but the wars are banked for now, what with their main leaders dead, and the the new armies to rise up are still gathering momentum and stuff.)
But on the flip side, was that there was a bit less action, which was a bit disappointing, but oh, well. It also meant that it was easier to keep track of who was dead, and who was still alive, and those ones that are in-between. Well, those POV's that we got to see, or who were close to them!
And yeah, that was great to read about, though Cersei's walk through the town wasn't fun to read, she does deserve a punishment, but that was just bizarre and not the right punishment. Nobody should have to bare their body to total strangers, and have them throw food at you. Yeah.
A really fantastic book, really entertaining, but I just want to read A Dance With Dragons!
