First Lines Friday #44, May 4th

First Lines Friday is a bookish meme hosted by Literary Marie of Precision Reviews. We encourage all of our fellow book bloggers and bookhearts to play along.

-Grab your current read(s)
-Share the first line(s)
-Include the title and author so that other FLF participants can add the book to their TBR Lists!

"Officer John Penotti took a sip of his rapidly cooling coffee, fighting the drowsiness that always came in the last remaining hours before daybreak. Listening to the command radio's static, he peered through the cruiser's windshield as it traveled along a remote portion of stare road A1A." -Edge of Midnight by Leslie Tentler

Well, that doesn't really sound like fun! But it must be done! What about you guys? Happy reading!

  1. I identified with the narrator in these first lines. I fight the same drowsiness!

  2. Yep :) and it sucks, but his shift as a cop was a night one, so it's important :)

I love comments, so comment away! I'll comment back if you leave a post-specific link for me to visit! If you leave that link, I'll always comment back, even if it's like, a month late!

This is an award free blog! Thanks for thinking of me but I just don't have the time to pass it along!
