Week 9 Review: Lord of the Abyss

From Goodreads:
Once upon a time…the Blood Sorcerer vanquished the kingdom of Elden. To save their children, the queen scattered them to safety and the king filled them with vengeance. Only a magical timepiece connects the four royal heirs…and time is running out.…

As the dark Lord who condemns souls to damnation in the Abyss, Micah is nothing but a feared monster wrapped in impenetrable black armor. He has no idea he is the last heir of Elden, its last hope. Only one woman knows—the daughter of his enemy.

Liliana is nothing like her father, the Blood Sorcerer who’d cursed Micah. She sees past Micah’s armor to the prince inside. A prince whose sinful touch she craves. But first she has to brave his dark, dangerous lair and help him remember. Because they only have till midnight to save Elden.

My Review:
Oh, I just devoured this book! 1. It was really great. And 2. It was about to run out of time on my computer, because it is a NetGalley book, and yeah, it just needed to be read, even if that meant that I was reading it before book 3. But I must sat, this was the one that I loved best, it was really quick, and had the most real characters to me, with the most to lose or gain. Micah is Lord of the Abyss, which makes him pretty darn powerful, and Liliana is the daughter of the Blood Sorcerer, and she's had a horrible life, and unbeknownst to her, has this curse to make her ugly, and have a significant limp, and a humped back, and has come to the Abyss because she's pretty sure that it's Micah, and that there's twisted magic and that he needs to go back to  Elden. And yeah, that was just the start of a great book!

The power and mystery, and the strength of the characters, well, it was absolutely amazing, and it just sucked in, with wonderful storytelling, a compelling story, and the characters just came to life off the page, with hardships and challenges, and how she bartered with her stories that were truths, to slowly ease him into knowing himself as Micah, because there's something blocking the knowledge in his mind.

The action scenes, whether personal inner conflicts, or battles between the good guys and the bad guys, were phenomenal, and the different magics, and the different plot lines, well, it was just great to read! The only thing that I didn't really like, was the ending, and how the Blood Sorcerer just dies, and then we don't really get to see much of the other characters, there was all this build-up for the siblings to fight against him throughout the first 3 books, and then the ending just was he's dead, we're all happy, he's going to spend time between Elden and the Abyss, she's beautiful because the curse is gone, and Nicolai is getting married, but that's about it. I would've liked to see more of the characters, and especially their interaction! Yep.

Other then that, this was a really great book, and a great story! Read it!
