"Not when we're so close, almost there. The worry streaming off him like rain from a wind shield, not dimming in the least when he picks up the pace, matches my stride, and laces his fingers with mine."
That doesn't sound too good!

"Besides the screaming and all. But that hardly counted, right?"

"'Kill me? You can join the "I want to Kill Yelena Guild." I hear they have six members in good standing. Valek is president since he had wanted to kill me twice.'"
Yeah, there are a lot of people who want to kill her! Love this bit of humour about the situation!

"Screams pierced the air as the woman was pushed along the hallway. With little to do, I watched."
