He's lost all hope...until she changes everything.

Master illusionist Lorenzo wants nothing to do with the Pyr. His dragon nature is just another secret to hide and another detail to juggle, like ensuring that each of his Las Vegas magic shows is a true spectacle. Until he feels the burn of his firestorm and his whole world shifts....

Cassie Redmond is tired of photographing celebrities. She wants to pursue her dream of serious photography—despite the lucrative offer for a shot of a dragon shifter. Las Vegas is the last place she wants to be, but Lorenzo arouses more than her curiosity when he shifts shape as the finale of his show. Instead of forcing him to reveal his secrets, Cassie gets swept away by this illusionist’s masterful touch.

Lorenzo wants to satisfy the firestorm and put it behind him. But Cassie is hard to forget—and he can’t ignore the danger when Slayers target the mate Lorenzo didn’t believe he wanted...

Why the time hasn't come yet...

Only one woman can persuade him to embrace his powers.

Brandon Merrick is determined to banish his shifter nature forever. The charismatic tattooed surfer is on the cusp of the ultimate challenge - to prove himself on the whitecaps of Hawaii and secure his future as a pro surfer. But his dragon isn't prepared to be tamed so easily...

One look at marine biologist Liz Barrett ignites the spark of the firestorm: Liz is his destined mate and his chance for happiness. While Brandon sees their first night together as just the beginning, his dragon seizes the upper hand. Awakening in the company of a raging dragon challenges Liz's ability to believe her own eyes. Can Brandon accept his inner beast in time to make it work with Liz?

Neither one realizes that Brandon is caught in an ancient Slayer's scheme to enslave him. When the deadly plot ignites, the very island will be at risk...and Brandon and his mate could be the ultimate sacrifice.

Why the time hasn't come yet...
I dunno, I went on a binge read of this series, and then didn't really read anymore of it! But I'm going to have to! What about you guys? Happy reading!

Week 21 Review: Darkfire Kiss

From Goodreads:
Rafferty Powell has resolved to destroy his hated arch-nemesis, Magnus Montmorency. The pair have exchanged challenge coins, and their next battle will be their last. But Rafferty never expected to meet a woman whose desire for Magnus's end matches his own-and whose soul sparks the firestorm within him...

My Review:
Yeah! The latest book in the series! I quiet enjoyed this book-it was finally time for Rafferty's firestorm, and my, what a firestorm! It wasn't just a firestorm, it was a darkfire storm! That made it quite the firestorm, and this was a great relationship, I enjoyed Rafferty and Melissa's passion, and how they changed, and grew, as a couple, and I felt really bad for Melissa, she'd  been through so much, and yet, she still survived, and I loved that about her! Their relationship was the one that changed the Pyr world, and this book added quite a bit, things that I hope I see in later books in the series (not the series about the kids in this one)

It also was good to see some characters again, it was really something that we needed.
So all in all, it was a great book, one I thoroughly enjoyed, and I hope you guys enjoy it too!

WWW Wednesday #7, May 25th

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?
Thanks to Should Be Writing  for starting this!

I am currently rereading Timeless, because I read it really quickly last time, and I wanted to get those details that I might've skipped over last time, plus I really enjoyed it!
I just finished reading Darkfire Kiss, today, in fact. Loved it, and loved where it left off for the next book (either in the spin off series, or this one!)
I received this book for review, so now I'm going to read it next. Yep.

What about you guys? Happy reading!

  • Open to a random page

Today's teaser comes from Darkfire Kiss by Deborah Cooke.
It's going to be 3 sentences, but not all together, but all on page 134.
"My friend just sent me the link to this YouTube video. Isn't this Rox's friend T?" and "He changes into a dragon, right on camera."

Yeah, that sounds pretty interesting!

And from my own book, Hidden Hearts, pg. 3.
"Again I felt the gaze on me, but this time I knew where it was coming from. And I stared right back."

What about you guys? Happy reading!

Week 17 Review: Whisper Kiss

From Goodreads:
The national bestselling Dragonfire series continues to heat up...

For millennia, the shape-shifting dragon warriors known as the Pyr have commanded the four elements and guarded the earth's treasures. But now the final reckoning between the Pyr and the dreaded Slayers is about to begin...

Niall Talbot has volunteered to hunt down and destroy all the remaining shadow dragons before they can wreak more havoc. But fate has placed him in the hands of Rox, an unconventional tattoo artist who doesn't even flinch when a shape-shifting dragon warrior suddenly appears on her doorstep. And as a woman who follows her heart in matters of passion, she makes the perfect mate for a firestorm with Niall...

My Review:
I loved this book! I've been reading the series (read the first 4 or so in about 2 days)

Niall was a bit arrogant at first, and assuming, but Rox changed him, which was good, I liked him after they got together. Even though it was a little while before they did, because Rox had to make some choices, and she did, and it led to them being together.

But I loved this book, and this series, so if you haven't read it, or the new YA series based on these series kids yet, you better go out and read them!

Thanks to Should Be Writing  for starting this!

I am currently reading Whisper Kiss by Deborah Cooke. I've already read the previous books in the series, so I can't wait to see what's going to happen in this book!

I just finished reading City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare!! This book was pure awesomeness! Can't wait to post my review!!!

I am planning on reading State of Decay by James Knapp next. I received the second book, Silent Army from Goodreads, so I wanted to know what the story was like before reading the second one.

What about you guys? Happy reading!

Today's Teaser comes from Whisper Kiss by Deborah Cooke, page. 17:

"The building cracked like a walnut. And Niall shifted shape to defend the human in his company, without a second thought."

Well, that doesn't sound like fun!

And from my own book, Betrayal I Felt, page 21:

"A river where the dogs would loose our scent, and we’d be able to get away. Perfect. We just had to get there."

What about you guys? So what are your teasers? Happy reading!
