OK, so I got 54 posts in 7 days, because I had two challenges to do posts for the same book, each time, and I read a decent number of books, so it added up. But I'm happy with what I got done! Also, it's the holiday that circles my birthday today, though it's the biggest spacing between them this year, given that my birthday falls on next Sunday. Yeah for 26! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read whatever I want, another free week! Can't wait to read whatever freely!

Week 20 Review: The Fascinators

A magic-infused YA novel about friendship, first love, and feeling out of place that will bewitch fans of Rainbow Rowell and Maggie Stiefvater.

Living in a small town where magic is frowned upon, Sam needs his friends James and Delia—and their time together in their school's magic club—to see him through to graduation.

But as soon as senior year starts, little cracks in their group begin to show. Sam may or may not be in love with James. Delia is growing more frustrated with their amateur magic club. And James reveals that he got mixed up with some sketchy magickers over the summer, putting a target on all their backs.

With so many fault lines threatening to derail his hopes for the year, Sam is forced to face the fact that the very love of magic that brought his group together is now tearing them apart—and there are some problems that no amount of magic can fix.

My Review:
I don't know what I expected from this book. But what I got was such a fun read, exploring friendship and maybe something more in a small town where both magic and LGBT+ isn't welcomed. So a bit of it was Sam wanting to get out of this town!

The magic of this world was really interesting, with intent and association, and imagination and dreams. And the fact that everybody has magic, but, in small towns like Sam's, not everybody uses it. It was so interesting to learn about!

Sam, James, and Delia are a pretty tight knit group of friends. But their senior year, the get another 2 members, and things start to fall apart, and that was sad to read for Sam, because there were so many questions. I really wanted to know what had happened outside that bowling alley that he wanted to talk to James about.

I'm a little unclear about that ending, with Sam and James. Like, was Sam's memories and subsequently, his romantic feelings, get wiped or something? Their maybe maybe not romantic relationship, didn't get an explanation ending, either. And does Sam still have magic or did he just give a little of his own? I enjoyed the happy ending that Sam got, but I would've liked a few more answers here. Plus, I'm wondering about James having a more elemental ability then the other characters. I would really love to explore that more!

This book was such a sweet and entertaining read, and I really enjoyed it!
