OK, so I got 26  posts in 7 days, so it was a pretty great week, I read a lot, and we got some awesome covers, so I'm happy! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read whatever I want to!

Week 7 Review: The Other Side of Lost

Girl Online meets Wild in this emotionally charged story of girl who takes to the wilderness to rediscover herself and escape the superficial persona she created on social media.

Mari Turner's life is perfect. That is, at least to her thousands of followers who have helped her become an internet starlet. But when she breaks down and posts a video confessing she's been living a lie—that she isn't the happy, in-love, inspirational online personality she's been trying so hard to portray—it goes viral and she receives major backlash. To get away from it all, she makes an impulsive decision: to hike the entire John Muir trail. Mari and her late cousin, Bri, were supposed to do it together, to celebrate their shared eighteenth birthday. But that was before Mari got so wrapped up in her online world that she shut anyone out who questioned its worth—like Bri.

With Bri's boots and trail diary, a heart full of regret, and a group of strangers that she meets along the way, Mari tries to navigate the difficult terrain of the hike. But the true challenge lies within, as she searches for the way back to the girl she fears may be too lost to find: herself. 

My Review:
Yeah, this book was pretty awesome to read! I read it in about 3 hours, and the last hour, standing, and didn't even really notice the time going by. It was a really engaging read, but an easy one, which is a pretty enjoyable combo!

Part of this book is about getting away from social media, getting out in nature and giving yourself time to find out who you are. Another part is healing from past hurts, like how her relationship with Bri was when Bri died. So there was some melancholy, but there was also a quiet joy in the beauty of her surroundings.

The idea of hiking over 200 miles, that scares me. So the idea that Mari goes on this adventure with only the preparations that Bri made, not knowing how to camp, is both scary and impressive, no matter what Mari thinks about it, personally.

My few negatives, one is that we didn't really get to know the other characters. We had the uncertainty of Mari, the positive and make the most of every second Bri, and a bit about Josh. The others, Vanessa, Jack, Beau, Jack, and Colin. They were really understanding and supportive of Mari, that they had all their reasons for being there. But we weren't given their reasons.

The other is that Mari had a pretty bad relationship with food and her body, which was linked with her social media identity, but it shouldn't have gone away so quickly by taking a media sabbatical and doing this hike. It just wasn't mentioned again.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a fantastic read!

Week 33 Review: The Secret History of Us

In this gorgeously written, emotional novel that fans of Sarah Dessen will enjoy, a teenage girl must piece together the parts of her life she doesn't remember after a severe collision leaves her with no memory of the past four years. 

When Olivia awakes in a hospital bed following a near-fatal car accident, she can't remember how she got there. She figures it's because she was in a coma for a week, but as time goes on, she realizes she's lost more than just the last week of her life—she's lost all memory of events that happened years ago. Gone is any recollection of starting or graduating high school; the prom; or her steady boyfriend Matt. Trying to figure out who she is feels impossible when everyone keeps telling her who she was.

As Liv tries to sort out her family and friends' perceptions of her, the one person she hasn't heard enough from is Walker, the guy who saved her the night her car was knocked off that bridge into the bay below. Walker is the hardened boy who's been keeping his distance and the one person that has made Liv feel like her old self…whoever that is. With feelings growing for Walker, tensions rising with Matt, and secrets she can't help but feel are being kept from her, Olivia must find her place in a life she doesn't remember living.

My Review:
I had a really great time reading this book! I've enjoyed her other books, and this one sounded really intriguing, and I had a blast reading it! Amnesia stories can go in so many ways, and I enjoyed the way that it was told in this one! 

Olivia is in a bad accident, and when she wakes up, she's missing years of her memory. And as a teenger, well, there's not many years of memories even before some memories are lost, and there are some pretty big moments, and to have lost them? Not fun! 

One big theme of this book is of how you show different sides of your self to different people. And given that Olivia has to trust on others recollections of her. Getting conflicting information, some information that maybe she didn't want to know, that was something that she had to deal with. 

I was really intrigued by the secrets mentioned in the synopsis, and what was going on with Matt and with Walker. And oh, that ending had some pretty fantastic reveals! Loved watching everything play out, it was really satisfying to read! 

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more by Jessi Kirby!

Week 22 Review: Things We Know By Heart

My Review:
This was such a fantastic book! I've enjoyed two of her other books-I need to read her 3rd-so I was expecting to like this book. And I did so much! It was such a great, epic book! I enjoyed so, so, so much, such a wonderful story it told!

I knew that it would be a slightly sad book, seeing that her boyfriend died, and she went looking for the recipient of his heart. And with the title, well, yeah, there was that aspect there! It was just so wonderful and mournful, working for a peaceful, resolved ending. And it got it!

What I really enjoyed, was the things that were above each chapter, excerpts of books about heart transplants and all the subjects related there, relating to what was going to happen in the chapter, and so much other things relating to the heart! So great!

I did feel bad for the situation that she found herself in. She was only going to see him, she wasn't going to meet him. And then she did, and there was nothing she could do, and then there were those perfect days and they feel in love, and she still had to tell her secret...yeah, not fun!

But they got a happy ending, and I enjoyed reading about it it so much, between Colton's medical issues, and her father's!
