Week 42 Review: Pressed Into Service

My Review:
This book was a delight to read! I love this series and world so much, and this moment in time, right before and the start of the Emergence, was such a great time to read! And I adored these characters, they were just so cute!

Levity is a popular journalist, but she's also a Wolf, but the general population doesn't know about the Amaranthine yet, but the final steps are being put in place by Hisoka, so this is the closest point to the Emergence that we've gone in this world, as well as to see a little bit of the actual start of it was really interesting to read. 

One thing that made the story unique is that it's the first one that had someone who was part Amaranthine, but because it was so far removed, that they didn't know about it and it's only because of these interactions that he is having, that's the truth is coming out. So that was something new that we haven't seen before.

This was another sweet story and I really enjoyed getting that this time with these characters, from the perspective of journalists and the news, given that this is pretty big news. But that these two were also realizing that they were in love each other was especially cute and I had such a blast reading their story! I'm glad we got this time with them!

This was another fantastic book and I can't wait to read more by Forthright!

Week 41 Review: Fumiko and the Finicky Nestmate, Pimiko and the Uncharted Island, Rhomiko and the Confirmed Bachelor

The Junzi—also known as the Four Gentlemen—are a set of ancient weapons fashioned from remnants. Dragons refer to them as the Four Storms, and Hisoka Twineshaft believes they will make a difference in the hunt for the rogue. But someone else is interested in gathering up these crystal masterpieces. The so-called Gentleman Bandit is responsible for two thefts already, and Hisoka is concerned for the Bamboo Stave. So he deploys an elite taskforce to guard the treasure. And to catch a thief.

Juuyu Farroost and his teammates regroup at a safehouse tucked under the boughs of one of the oldest—and most heavily fortified—orphan trees in the Americas. My Review:
It was really fantastic to read these books! I loved Fumiko and Pimiko the first time and second time, I read them, and I loved reading them again before going straight into Rhomiko. They were all just so great, and I'm so glad that I did this reread! 

Fumiko explored further an orphan tree-but one who can't have a scattering, Zuzu's surrounded by a town. Plus the stealing of the Junzi-and who the Gentleman Bandit is, yeah, that added a lot to the series, and I couldn't wait to see how that played out.

Pimiko, well, it was really a final showdown, but not, because it's against one of the big bads, but not the one that they really knew about. I loved following these characters as things got more and more chaotic, and seeing them all brought to their new home was so heartwarming! 

One thing that I really enjoyed, was that this series has come full circle. It started at Stately House, and it ended at Stately House. I would've loved to see where all the couples from books 2 through 5 (since book 6's characters are here in book 7) and see how they're doing, but it was a huge book and had a lot going on. One thing that I hope for in the future! 

Rhomiko hardly focused on Rhomiko and Hisoka, which isn't a bad thing, but I felt we didn't get to know either one much better then what we knew before this book. Which is too bad, given that this is the end of this series. But all the other couples that found happiness? Utterly adored, like with Jacques, with Ginkgo, with Isla. I hadn't realized that it would focus on all these bachelors, but I'm glad that they all found happiness in the end! 

I am a bit sad, because this is is the end of this series. There's still the Songs series, and the Interludes, but so far, none of the announced titles are taking place after Rhomiko, so we are less likely to see any time afterwards, to see the results of everything that happened in it! Because a lot of big changes happened, like how many pregnancies/sprigged? Here's to hoping for another thing we do see a bit of the time after this book in the future! 

Loved reading these books and I can't wait to read more by Forthright!
