New, never published Hollows short with Trent and Rachel working together. The timing of the story sort of puts it between A Perfect Blood and Ever After, but the feeling of it is seriously slanted toward Ever After. If you get a chance to read it, I’d [author] be curious to know what you think about the “voice.” One of the things I tried to do–besides get a chance to see Rachel and Trent work together–was to give it a more mainstream feel since there’s the chance readers who would normally never pick up the Hollows might be reading it.
Rachel Morgan's come a long way from the clutzy runner of Dead Witch Walking. She's faced vampires and werewolves, banshees, witches, and soul-eating demons. She's crossed worlds, channeled gods, and accepted her place as a day-walking demon. She's lost friends and lovers and family, and an old enemy has become something much more.
But power demands responsibility, and world-changers must always pay a price. That time is now.

The Language of Silence: Review
Brett is certain that someone is responsible for her brother’s death. He wouldn't just leave her and his best friend, Ed, behind. Although Tristan’s death is ruled an accident, Brett and Ed know there is something more sinister happening. They are looking for the secret that no one in this small Georgia town of Wendall wants to acknowledge, the truth that may rock the town establishment and particularly one of its most upstanding families.
Together, Brett and Ed must discover the hidden truth behind Tristan's death and deal with their feelings for each other, or they might just discover the darkest secrets are the ones they are keeping themselves.
My Review:
I enjoyed this book! It was entertaining, it raised my blood pressure at the unfairness that the characters faced, sometimes winning, sometimes not, especially the big event that propelled things-the death of Tristan.
There was a contrast of parents in this book, from Ed's single mother who has very little to work with, to Brett's parents, especially her mom, who has money, but aren't the best of people, and definitely not the best of parents.
The town is the kind that reminded me of Gatlin from the Caster series, Southern, roots mean something, and almost never capable of moving with the times, maybe the appearance, but not actually, the first real example is the bathroom of the church, that Brett was in before Tristan's funeral-unisex, with no lock, from forever ago, never updated.
I liked how things resolved themselves, from Ed who pretty much thought that Tristan killed himself, to Brett, who thought that Tristan was probably murdered, and how they both dealt with the conflicting ideas, of the guy who was pretty close to the both of them, and their own feelings for each other. It just wrapped up nicely!
Favourite lines: "If they had a Wall of Shame at the DMV, the Jensen family would be the number one stars." Which is a kinda sad thought! "You know your town has a knack for preserving its identity when the biggest day of the year is the announcement of the lineup for the Fourth of July parade." Which is just kinda lame! Be a bit original, town! But of course you can't, that's part of the whole point of the book, I think!
Yeah, I really enjoyed this book, it was a nice read, and it was just good to read!

She also spent a few years living in Cuba. Since her time on the island of one McDonalds and Banana Rats (don't ask), she has been obsessed with traveling. Tiffany recently added China to her list of travels (hello inspiration for a new book).
Besides traveling, Tiffany has always been an avid reader. The earliest books she remembers reading belong to The Little House on the Prairie Series. First book she read in one day? Little Woman (5th grade). First author she fell in love with? Jane Austen in middle school. Tiffany spent most of her high school and college career as a literary snob. She refused to read anything considered "low brow" or outside the "classics."
Tiffany began teaching middle school in 2006. Her students introduced her to the wide, wonderful world of Young Adult literature. Today, Tiffany embraces popular Young Adult literature and uses it in her classroom. She currently teaches the following novels: The Outsiders, Speak, Night, Dystopian Literature Circles: The Hunger Games, The Giver, The Uglies, and Matched.
