OK, so I got 54 posts in 7 days, because I had two challenges to do posts for the same book, each time, and I read a decent number of books, so it added up. But I'm happy with what I got done! Also, it's the holiday that circles my birthday today, though it's the biggest spacing between them this year, given that my birthday falls on next Sunday. Yeah for 26! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read whatever I want, another free week! Can't wait to read whatever freely!

Week 20 Review: The Sandcastle Empire

From Goodreads:
Before the war, Eden's life was easy. Then the revolution happened, and everything changed.

Now a powerful group called the Wolfpack controls the earth and its resources. And even though Eden has lost everything to them, she refuses to die by their hands. She knows the coordinates to the only neutral ground left in the world, a place called Sanctuary Island, and she is desperate to escape to its shores.

Eden finally reaches the island and meets others resistant to the Wolves. But the solace is short-lived when one of Eden's new friends goes missing. Braving the jungle in search of their lost ally, they quickly discover Sanctuary is filled with lethal traps and an enemy they never expected.

This island might be deadlier than the world Eden left behind, but surviving it is the only thing that stands between her and freedom.

My Review:
This was a really fantastic book to read! This dystopian world with the Wolves taking over the world after the water levels rise and only the rich were going to able to afford to live in a guaranteed future in a habitat, yeah, it was pretty interesting!

Sanctuary was an interesting place to be. They didn't original see it, and there's all sorts of weird things going on, like poison ivy like moss, and vines that cause hallucinations. It was all very odd and just a little bit scary!

There was a lot of adventure, because basically the island is a booby trap, and I really enjoyed watching her go on journey with people who she slowly gets to know, and who she doesn't really trust at the beginning. Which was really great, because there's some secrets that she finds out that were pretty important to what was going on!

My one question is, what happened to her mom? There were little hints that something happened, throughout the story, and I thought were were going to get it in one of the flashbacks, but we didn't. So now I'm wondering, what happened there! Oh, no, I have another question-when they made those characters holo wolves, did they wake Eden up before or after they'd done the procedure? But that's not such a burning question as the first one.

This book was a fantastic read, I really enjoyed it, it was thoroughly entertaining!

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you'll read next?

Thanks to MizB of Should Be Writing now A Daily Rhythm for starting this meme!

I'm currently reading The Sandcastle Empire, and I'm really enjoying it! Must read more!
I read Desolation Road, and it's my least favourite Christine Feehan book, the hero just did one to many things to annoy or anger me. Which sucks.
I'm going to be reading This Darkness Mine, and I can't wait, because I've been waiting for so long and never got around to it!

What about you guys? Happy reading!

Week 27 Review: This Splintered Silence

From Goodreads:
Lindley Hamilton has been the leader of the space station Lusca since every first-generation crew member on board, including her mother, the commander, were killed by a deadly virus.

Lindley always assumed she'd captain the Lusca one day, but she never thought that day would come so soon. And she never thought it would be like this—struggling to survive every day, learning how to keep the Lusca running, figuring out how to communicate with Earth, making sure they don't run out of food.

When a member of the surviving second generation dies from symptoms that look just like the deadly virus, though, Lindley feels her world shrinking even smaller. The disease was supposed to be over; the second generation was supposed to be immune. But as more people die, Lindley must face the terrifying reality that either the virus has mutated or something worse is happening: one of their own is a killer.

My Review:
Oh, this book was really awesome! A space thriller, what more could anyone ask for? The idea that the kids were the only ones to survive, yeah, that's a bit terrifying, because they're in space, and it's not like it's easy for them to get help!

Lindley adored her mom, looked up to her so much. So she's under a lot of stress, trying to take her mom's place on the station. I felt really badly for her, because man, to be responsible for so many people, to try and not make mistakes, that's hard!

I really enjoyed the way it was written, with the short chapters that go very well in thriller books. This book was more psychological thriller, not a lot of action, but there was the constant threats to their survival, be it supplies or the virus or the killer. Awesome!

One thing that I just didn't like was her name. I mean, I searched it to see if it was a real first name, and nope, my results were of towns and as a last name. It bugs me, because for a first name, it's like a part from 2 different names were smashed together. Bah!

Yeah, this book was really great and I really enjoyed it!
