So I got 26 posts in 7 days, so that's pretty good. Had a good, but busy week, what with play and all. I hope to get a few more posts, and yeah. Just need to add reviews to the reviews! But now that I have more time, I'll be able to do that! Whoo!

Former pop star Heather Wells has settled nicely into her new life as assistant dorm director at New York College—a career that does notrequire her to drape her size 12 body in embarrassingly skimpy outfits. She can even cope (sort of) with her rocker ex-boyfriend's upcoming nuptials, which the press has dubbed The Celebrity Wedding of the Decade. But she's definitely having a hard time dealing with the situation in the dormitory kitchen—where a cheerleader has lost her head on the first day of the semester. (Actually, her head is accounted for—it's her torso that's AWOL.)

Life is reasonably rosy for plus-size ex-pop star turned Assistant Dormitory Director and sometime sleuth Heather Wells. Her freeloading ex-con dad is finally moving out. She still yearns for her hot landlord, Cooper Cartwright, but her relationship with "rebound beau," vigorous vegan math professor Tad Tocco, is more than satisfactory. This swashbuckling adventure tale has all the dubious coincidence typical of the genre as well as numerous fight scenes described in astonishing detail--what else would you expect from an author described as "a schoolboy fencing champion and fight choreographer"?

Week 50 Review: Sapphique
The only one who escaped . . . And the one who could destroy them all.
Incarceron, the living prison, has lost one of its inmates to the outside world: Finn's escaped, only to find that Outside is not at all what he expected. Used to the technologically advanced, if violently harsh, conditions of the prison, Finn is now forced to obey the rules of Protocol, which require all people to live without technology. To Finn, Outside is just a prison of another kind, especially when Claudia, the daughter of the prison's warden, declares Finn the lost heir to the throne. When another claimant emerges, both Finn's and Claudia's very lives hang on Finn convincing the Court of something that even he doesn't fully believe.
Meanwhile, Finn's oathbrother Keiro and his friend Attia are still trapped inside Incarceron. They are searching for a magical glove, which legend says Sapphique used to escape. To find it, they must battle the prison itself, because Incarceron wants the glove too.
My Review:I really enjoyed this book. Claudia and Finn are in the outside and she's trying to have him be the heir to the throne and he doesn't really want it, he wants to work o getting Keiro and Attia out of Incarceron, even thought Claudia's "Dad" pretty much destroyed everything. Meanwhile, Attia and Keiro are looking for this glove so they can find their own way out. There's a lot of conflict, and there are people coming in and out, and then we find out how crappy things are in the Outside, without power, at the end. Yep.
We don't really learn who Sapphique is, but we got to talk to a hallucination of him which was pretty neat. So I really enjoyed that! But I would've liked to have a clear answer, who was he, or if he was real or not, and if he was, what parts of the story really were true.
The ending with the potential big fighting, and then the power going out to get everyone out of Incarceron, and showing the true conditions of Outside was rather shocking, how bad it actually was. But it kinda made sense, they did have to send all these people into a tiny cube so they would have less people, and wouldn't have to worry about the dregs of society.
What we found out about the making people small, and all that, it was really amazing, and it makes me hope that we can have a better future, because if we could actually do this, and had the power to do it, then we wouldn't have to use as much as we do if we were that small.
This was a really great book, and I really enjoyed it, and yeah. Hope you guys check it out! Check it out on Amazon!

Week 48 Review: Incarceron
Incarceron -- a futuristic prison, sealed from view, where the descendants of the original prisoners live in a dark world torn by rivalry and savagery. It is a terrifying mix of high technology -- a living building which pervades the novel as an ever-watchful, ever-vengeful character, and a typical medieval torture chamber -- chains, great halls, dungeons. A young prisoner, Finn, has haunting visions of an earlier life, and cannot believe he was born here and has always been here. In the outer world, Claudia, daughter of the Warden of Incarceron, is trapped in her own form of prison -- a futuristic world constructed beautifully to look like a past era, an imminent marriage she dreads. She knows nothing of Incarceron, except that it exists. But there comes a moment when Finn, inside Incarceron, and Claudia, outside, simultaneously find a device -- a crystal key, through which they can talk to each other. And so the plan for Finn's escape is born ...
My Review:
What a captivating novel! Very unique, with the miniature prison, thought not with the horrible-thing-happens-we-survive-we-go-back-to-Victorian-times thing. A bit like Dearly, Departed, though that came after this book, but I read that one first. Yeah.
I really enjoyed the perspectives of Claudia and Finn, because they both had a side of a story, they both were really important, and they both do things that are really important to the book, like the keys, and going back and forth, and knowing where they belong and such. Really great!
Loved that there was a potential for romance, after all, they are supposed to be engaged, and that adds to the book, and makes it all the more better!
I loved the thought of escape, and how different the worlds are, and the mystery of Incarceron, that was just amazing! I hope the mysteries like Sapphique get answered in the second book that I've requested called Sapphique!
