My Review:
Oh, wow, did I really enjoy these books! I mean, we get to see things from Ben's POV, and how he first noticed her, and yeah, then there was Unbreakable, which was extremely dark, because dealing with the whole, world almost ended, thing.
I really enjoyed being in Ben's POV, because he is learning about travelling between the universes, but he doesn't have that mystery about it, that Janelle had in Unravelling. So yeah, there was that, and then we got the story that was between the full length books, and oh, loved it so much!
Unbreakable was a heart breaker. I mean, they're in love, from different universes so they can't be together, and yeah, now he's being accused of being a human trafficker, I think that's #4 worst crimes that isn't a genocide, because that's just a whole other level of evil (murder, child abuse, and rape are the first 3) and how she has to work to find the actual guilty party, yeah, that's not a great situation to be in!
I loved the science fiction elements in this book, as well as the mystery ones, there were a ton of red herrings, and then subtle clues that are the opposite of red herrings, that led to the conclusion, and yeah, I'd love to know how they numbered the universes!
These were spectacular books, I really enjoyed this duology, and I'll have to check out what Elizabeth Norris writes next!

OK, so I got 65 posts posts in 7 days, in part that there was a lot of bookish news, and the Once Upon a Read-a-Thon, so yeah, lots of posts! And then a lot of great books to read, too! Happy reading!

Week 28 Review: Unvaveling
Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed—as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she's opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn't possible, Janelle knows—with every fiber of her being—that Ben has somehow brought her back to life.
But her reincarnation, and Ben's possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI-agent father's files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something—but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what's right in front of her: Everything that's happened—the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben's sudden appearance in her life—points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she's going to need to uncover Ben's secrets—and keep from falling in love with him in the process.
My Review:
I enjoyed reading this book a lot! It was really entertaining, and I enjoyed the countdown, and the clues that were discovered, and how they all started to come together! And the characters, really enjoyed reading about them!
One thing I have a bit of an issue with, is the synopsis's use of "reincarnation." The definition of reincarnation is "The belief that the soul, upon death of the body, comes back to earth in another body or form. Or rebirth of the soul in a new body. Or a new incarnation or embodiment, as of a person." She was brought back to life, not reincarnated. So yeah. I have a tiny issue with that!
The whole thing that came together with the mystery? Really enjoyed how it there's a multiverse, and people can travel between them, which is really cool, and also explains Ben, and how he was able to bring her back. But then, there's the fact that the world ended!
Because yeah, they were too late, and the bad thing happened, and her world, at least, was devastated by it. And oh, the rest of the ending, where the police people from the original universe makes Ben and the rest of his friends go back to their universe? Oh, that hurt! But more reason to want more!
Yeah, really great book, complex thriller, and that ending, oh, makes sure that I'll be reading the sequel!

4. Words like "the," "a," "and," and those such don't count as the first letter.
