My Review:
Wow, this book was so fantastic! I mean, I was expecting that after the amazing sauce ness of the past 2 books, but expectations aren't always reality. It was for this book! There were so many things to deal with, from Goddard being out of control, all of humanity being marked as unsavory besides Greyson, and what the heck was the failsafe! I just loved reading this book!

I really enjoyed seeing all these different sides. From Faraday on the island, to Anastasia and Rowan being brought back, and Greyson all over the place. We met some new characters, as well, which was really great! There were also the asides, like the many conversations that led to deletions, and the commentary on The Toll, which was strange, but then we got to the end, and it made sense! Loved that!

We knew going in that we'd learn more about the scythe rings. It was shocking as promised, but it also made total sense. And then there's the mystery we didn't know about that needed to be solved, with those dates associated with the catastrophes that proved space travel too risky. Yeah. I mean, there were barely mentioned that I remember, and they're kinda important to this book!

There's just two things. Did the fail safe affect the ships that got away? I wouldn't think so, but I'm not sure. The other thing, I wish that Faraday had gotten a chance to say goodbye. It was sad that he didn't get to. Understandable, but sad!

Loved this book, it was such a incredible end to the series!

Week 41 Review: Steelheart

My Review:
This book was a fantastic read! This world with the Calamity and Epics, yeah, it's so interesting, and I can't wait to explore more in the future books! I really enjoyed this book, it's a sci fi world, with a almost heist like feel, except that the prize is killing Steelheart, which is a pretty bloody and dangerous undertaking!

David was pretty awesome, he's dedicated his life to taking down Steelheart. I loved how clumsy he was with his metaphors, and how he grew relationships with the other members of the Reckoners. He was a fantastic narrator!

Their investigation into Steelheart's weakness was pretty interesting. Because weaknesses are strange and can be pretty particular-and they only have the one incident that proves he has one in the first place. Figuring out what that was made for really entertaining reading!

I loved the two main twists! If you've read the synopsis' of the next two books, than you know what those twists are. But man, they're so well written and woven into the story so well, I just adore them! I can't wait to read more about them and this world and with these characters! I'm so excited!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more!

Week 33 Review: Dev1at3

My Review:
Wow, this book was so fantastic! It was a really great sequel, and I enjoyed being in Lemon and Cricket's heads! It sucked that the gang wasn't together, but they went on many different adventures, some that started to come together at the end of this book! Can't wait to see where things go from here!

Lemon narrated a lot more in this book, I think she and Eve switched places, because Eve only had a few scenes. But neither of them was sitting around. I kinda thought something was off in the military installment, but I didn't see it coming,. You got me again, Jay Kristoff, again in this series!

I meant to read this book when it came out. And I started it, but then I stalled. Because there was this line, that if Ezekiel had gone a little further, seen Lemon's message, then this all wouldn't have happened. I assume that means that things would've been better. Like, Ezekiel wouldn't have teamed up with Preacher, and all that wouldn't have happened. And that pushed one of my buttons, and slowed my reading of this book to a crawl. I finally got over the tipping point, and devoured this book like it deserved, because it's so freaking great!

That was an evil, killer ending! Like, everybody is not in a good situation, or the last time we left them, they might not have survived, and we don't know. We can hope, and reason that they did, but until the 3rd book, we won't know. And I need to know!

Loved this book, it was such a fantastic read, and I'm dying for the 3rd book!

Week 17 Review: Iron and Magic

My first review of Iron and Magic
My Review:
Yeah, it was so great reading this book again! Knowing that they're going to be in Magic Triumphs-and how, it twas great to see the beginning of their story! All their bickering and getting one up on the other, all that maneuvering, it was so fantastic to read!

Knowing that they're going to face off against this enemy again, it was interesting to see what they were doing in this book, and makes me wonder what they did between this book and Magic Triumphs. Like, more of the same but in a different area, or what?

We do find out about Hugh's secrets, I think, in this book, with the barrels with the vampire eating microbe thing. But that's mostly because the threats they faced were the dragon guy's forces, and the Golden Legion and Landon, highest necromancer for Roland, not Elara's enemies, so there's that.

My only real question now is-what's going to happen in the next 2 books? Like what the synopsis says of book 2 is that it's Elara's. And true, we definitely have to explore her past, where her powers come from, and all that jazz, but I'm almost wondering if it's actually going to be set before or after the first book...

Also, their relationship has a long way to go from here to where it is in Magic Triumphs. Because while they're together, there's not that element of sweetness, of calmness, that it has. We also have to answer the question why Hugh wanted Elara to eat the whole chicken, as well!

Loved reading this so much, it's just a fantastic book!

My first review of Magic Triumphs
My Review:
Wow, loved reading this book again! I mean, it's the end of a series that I've come to love dearly, and it's hard to say goodbye, but man, did it go out on a high note! It was so adorable to see baby Conlan, and seeing Kate as a first time mom.

I remembered who died, since it hasn't been that long since I first read it. So there were some tough blows, like Adora and Saiman. Adora, it's hard because we only met her in the last book. Saiman, because he's been in the series since the first novella, before Curran was introduced.

The final battle, that was pretty intense. And they used their time wisely, because man, did they face a big threat! And then when Roland turned on her, well, Kate was ready for it, and that was a satisfying conclusion! As was how she was kept alive! Everybody did their part! It was such a fantastic ending!

Sure, there's still things that could happen in the future, like Erra being alive, and Julie hanging out with her. There's the potential that Hugh will heal Dali. I think Kate and Curran have earned some peace and quiet to raise their son, but I'd love to spend more time in this world!

Loved this book so much, and I'm eager for more of the Iron Covenant series, and just plain eager for more Ilona Andrews books!

Week 17 Review: The Host

My first review of The Host
My Review:
It was so great to read this book again! This is about the 3rd time that I've read this book, and yeah, it's enjoyable every time. I wish that we could've gotten the sequels, because it would've been awesome to explore more of this world, spend more time with these characters, but this book stands alone.

On one hand, what the souls do, taking over bodies, is pretty parasitic. On the other, they do improve the worlds they're living on. Just as the expense of those that were ruining said worlds. You'd think that the spiders or something would build mechanically bodies. They could build a biological brain, couldn't they? And for coma patients who just won't wake up, or something? So they're not stealing bodies anymore.

That scene where Wanda finds Doc after he's tried to extract a soul from its host...yeah, that hit hard. Especially since the soul was apparently just a baby, not that he would know how to tell, I don't think. I can totally understand why she reacted the way that she did.

I loved how Wanda first fell in love with Melanie's loved ones. And then as she spent time with them, with other humans. Like Ian. She learned more about humans, and they learned more about souls. And while that ending meant for a lot of confusing feelings sometimes, I think it was worth it!

Loved this book, it's just a really great read!

Week 15 Review: Salvation Day

My Review:
This book was really fantastic! I just had to read it right away, because it sounded intriguing and I wanted to explore the mystery/horror of what happened and what's going to happen to House of Wisdom!

There were two things that I really enjoyed about this book. The first is the characters. They were different people, Zahra with a personal connection to House of Wisdom, and Jaswinder, scared from what happened. The second was the world. Yeah, the world has been through some horrible things between now and then, and a big reason why the characters were doing what they were doing. Yeah.

There was something off about the way that Zahra's leader, well, leaded. He was just a little bit too angry, controlling, and the way that they followed him, without question, yeah, I was uneasy about that whole situation.

Honestly, I'm left with a few questions. To try and not spoil, that threat, well, I still have questions about it. And if we got a sequel answering those questions, yeah, that would be pretty awesome, because yeah, this was a pretty great book!

Loved this book, and yeah, I wouldn't mind a sequel!

My Review:
Oh, man, this book was so fantastic to read! I did take a few times to really get into it, it is a fairly hefty book, but just like This Mortal Coil, once I was into it, yeah, the pages just flew right on by! I just loved reading it!

After the big reveal in the first book about Cat and Jun Bei, I just wanted to know more about how that was going to affect Cat in this book. And yeah, it's not easy, and it turns out there's more then what we know. So much happened there!

We also go to explore more of this world, and we met Anna, who is Cole's biological sister, so she was pretty interesting to met! We also went to Entropia, which was pretty interesting, and the idea of redefining what being human means, yeah, that's pretty interesting!

And that ending, oh! So much was going on, so many reveals, from her parentage, to the whole two personalities in one brain. And what the lines of code were for. Which just makes me so eager for the final book in the series!

This book was fantastic, and I can't wait for This Vicious Cure!

My Review:
Wow, I just loved reading these books! I just devoured them, they changed so much about the world, and were just incredible to read! The beginning of Defy Me was confusing because the characters were being drugged, but I couldn't put it down!

It's funny, I thought I knew so much about this world, about these characters. These books, like Restore Me, showed how little I actually did know. Well, a lot was hidden, but there were a ton of reveals, and so many twists, it was a roller coaster ride and I loved it!

Shadow Me gave us Kenji's side of what happened at the end of Restore Me which is good because that was such an evil ending! And it was pretty great as well being in his head, because he's such a great character!

Defy Me, yeah, it was a bit mind bending because of the drugs, and so we were kinda getting what was happening, but not all of it. But then it started to make more sense and what we learned was kinda horrifying. But that ending definitely made up for it, though I still want the big show down!

I loved these so much, and I can't wait to see how the series is going to end!

My first review of Queen Song, Steel Scars, Red Queen, Glass Sword
My Review:
Oh, yes, wow, it was so great to read this whole series (besides Broken Throne which is coming out shortly, yeah!) I kept putting it off because Queen Song and Glass Sword, yeah, they're downers to read, but I started them, and I couldn't put them down!

Queen Song, I kinda had a mental block on starting reading it because I knew how poorly it would end for Coriane. But then I got going and I couldn't stop because these books and this world are just so fascinating! Red Queen was just as epic before, and Glass Sword was both sweeping and a tiny bit of a downer. And then King's Cage picks you up and breaks you apart and War Storm tears you into tiny pieces and then starts to heal you! Bah!

I hadn't read King's Cage or War Storm yet. So I had no idea where this series was going to go. And so much happened in them! Like, meeting other newbloods that had control over lightning! And the war, oh man, the war!

Like we got to visit other countries, which was pretty important, because the scale of what we saw grew larger and larger as we saw more. And with more POVs, we saw a lot more. And then it came to a head and it was glorious and I loved reading it!

Loved reading these books so much, and it was a great pretty much end to the series and I can't wait for Broken Throne!
