Spring Into Reading-A-Thon:

OK, so I got 31 posts in 7 days, and yeah, it was a decent week, it was quite, I read a good number of books, and I have a number to read before the end of the month. Wish me luck! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read The Gargoyle's Captive!

Grace is a monster hunter who went into her demon deal with eyes wide open. Years ago, her mother made the same choice and was never seen again, and the answers Grace seeks can only be found in the demon realm.

She doesn't care that she’s auctioned off to a gargoyle. She doesn't plan to stay with him longer than strictly necessary.

Unfortunately, she didn't read the small print of her contract.

Every time she tries to escape, she's transported back into Bram's tender care. He never hurts her, never punishes her, just meets her fury with an easy charm she doesn't know how to fight.

She doesn't mean to give in, to stop fighting. But the moment she does, she starts to forget what brought her to this place and what her goals are. After a life starved of pleasure, she's all willing to let Bram seduce her again and again…

At least until the past comes calling.

Week 12 Review: Blood Bonds

From Goodreads:
They're the D'Artigo sisters: savvy half-human, half-Fae agents of the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. Camille is the Queen of Dusk and Twilight. Delilah is a two-faced werecat and the Autumn Lord's only living Death Maiden. And Menolly is a vampire princess and married to a gorgeous werepuma Amazon. It’s been four long years since they first found out about Shadow Wing…and now, they're facing the end of the line. It's time for the D'Artigo sisters to extinguish Shadow Wing's evil forever, before he goes mad and tries to unravel the world…

My Review:
Oh, I've finally finished out this series! I've been meaning to pick up this book for years, when I went to edit this post, it had 2019 details in it. But now I've finally read it, and finished this series! And it was such a wild ride!

This series always came in sets of 3, of who would be narrating. So we've been in the end stages for a while now, but this was Camille's final story, and the final story for these sisters, and it was a bit bittersweet to read, knowing that there was nothing new coming. But that we got all 3 sisters narrating in this book was just icing on the cake!

This is finally the book where Shadow Wing is defeated, once and for all, and it's been a long time coming, and it was oh, so satisfying to see him being taken down after all this time! My only complaint that it was over too soon!

Seeing where we left these characters, what they have in story for their futures, it's where they would've wanted to go, if they knew at the start of the journey. It took them time and effort, but they made it, and it was just so heartwarming and I loved it!

I loved reading this book, it was a fantastic end to this series!

Waiting on Wednesday #541, September 22nd

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating!

A Twist of Fate by Kelley Armstrong
Expected Publication: October 5th, 2021
From Goodreads:
Four years ago, Rosalind Courtenay stumbled from the nineteenth century to the twenty-first, where she has been trapped ever since, leaving her husband and infant son behind. Now she’s found her way back.

The problem, of course, is how to explain her absence to her husband. Does he think she abandoned him? Has he remarried? Is he happy in a new life? Rosalind decides to don a disguise in hopes of answering her questions before showing up on his doorstep. Instead, a twist of fate has her mistaken for her young son’s new governess.

Rosalind has every intention of revealing herself as soon as August returns home from business. Until then, she’ll get to know her son, a quiet child who has inexplicably been abandoned by an endless stream of governesses. That’s when the hauntings begin. Rosalind has finally come home and something—or someone—doesn’t just want her gone. They want her dead.

Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson
Expected Publication: October 5th, 2021
From Goodreads:
The dead of Loraille do not rest.

Artemisia is training to be a Gray Sister, a nun who cleanses the bodies of the deceased so that their souls can pass on; otherwise, they will rise as spirits with a ravenous hunger for the living. She would rather deal with the dead than the living, who trade whispers about her scarred hands and troubled past.

When her convent is attacked by possessed soldiers, Artemisia defends it by awakening an ancient spirit bound to a saint’s relic. It is a revenant, a malevolent being that threatens to possess her the moment she drops her guard. Wielding its extraordinary power almost consumes her—but death has come to Loraille, and only a vespertine, a priestess trained to wield a high relic, has any chance of stopping it. With all knowledge of vespertines lost to time, Artemisia turns to the last remaining expert for help: the revenant itself.

As she unravels a sinister mystery of saints, secrets, and dark magic, her bond with the revenant grows. And when a hidden evil begins to surface, she discovers that facing this enemy might require her to betray everything she has been taught to believe—if the revenant doesn’t betray her first.

Cackle by Rachel Harrison
Expected Publication: October 5th, 2021
From Goodreads:
All her life, Annie has played it nice and safe. After being unceremoniously dumped by her longtime boyfriend, Annie seeks a fresh start. She accepts a teaching position that moves her from Manhattan to a small village upstate. She’s stunned by how perfect and picturesque the town is. The people are all friendly and warm. Her new apartment is dreamy too, minus the oddly persistent spider infestation.

Then Annie meets Sophie. Beautiful, charming, magnetic Sophie, who takes a special interest in Annie, who wants to be her friend. More importantly, she wants Annie to stop apologizing and start living for herself. That’s how Sophie lives. Annie can’t help but gravitate toward the self-possessed Sophie, wanting to spend more and more time with her, despite the fact that the rest of the townsfolk seem…a little afraid of her. And like, okay. There are some things. Sophie’s appearance is uncanny and ageless, her mansion in the middle of the woods feels a little unearthly, and she does seem to wield a certain power…but she couldn’t be…could she?

When Night Breaks by Janella Angels
Expected Publication: October 5th, 2021
From Goodreads:
The competition has come to a disastrous end, and Daron Demarco’s fall from grace is now front page news. But little matters to him beyond Kallia, the contestant he fell for who is now lost to this world and in the hands of a dangerous magician. Daron is willing to do whatever it takes to find her. Even if it means embarking on a dark and treacherous journey, risking more than just his life, with no promise of return.

After awaking in darkness, Kallia has never felt more lost. Especially with Jack by her side, the magician with who has the answers but cannot be trusted. Together, they must navigate a dazzling world where mirrors show memories and illusions shadow every corner, one ruled by a powerful game master who could all too easily destroy the world she left behind -- and the boy she can’t seem to forget. With time running out, Kallia must embrace her role in a darker destiny, or lose everyone she loves, forever.

Harvest Web by Yasmine Galenorn
Expected Publication: October 5th, 2021
From Goodreads:
Summer has been kind to January--work has involved a lot of quiet research, she's helped Ari revamp her wedding plans, and settled into a comfortable routine with Killian. That all comes to a screeching halt when autumn crashes in like a bull in a china shop.January finds herself plagued with an obnoxious house-ghost when she literally discovers a skeleton in her closet. She must discover who the dead man was, and why his skeleton is in her house before she can exorcise the spirit--not an easy task in itself. But then, at work, a much more serious issue arises when Conjure Ink's new client is killed by the Whatcom County Devil--an urban legend come to life. Now, they must find the creature and destroy it before it strikes again.

Yeah, October doesn't quite have as many releases as September, but there's some gems in there that I can't wait to read! What about you guys? Happy reading!

OK, so I got 20 posts in 7 days, which was a pretty awesome week, lots of amazing books, and yeah, a really week coming up! Can't wait to read it! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read Dare Mighty Things, The Potion Diaries, Royal Tour, Going Viral, Legacy of Light, and Zero Hour.

The Selection meets The 5th Wave in this heart-racing debut duology about a girl competing for a spot on a mysterious mission to the outer reaches of space.

THE RULES ARE SIMPLE: You must be gifted. You must be younger than twenty-five. You must be willing to accept the dangers that you will face if you win.

Eighteen-year-old Cassandra Gupta's entire life has been leading up to this—the opportunity to travel to space. But to secure a spot on this classified mission, she must first compete against the best and brightest people on the planet. People who are as determined as she is to win a place on a journey to the farthest reaches of the universe.

Cassie is ready for the toll that the competition will take; the rigorous mental and physical tests designed to push her to the brink of her endurance. But nothing could have prepared her for the bonds she would form with the very people she hopes to beat. Or that with each passing day it would be more and more difficult to ignore the feeling that the true objective of the mission is being kept from her.

As the days until the launch tick down and the stakes rise higher than ever before, only one thing is clear to Cassie: she'll never back down...even if it costs her everything.
Sam Kemi is off on another Hunt around the world, chasing secret potions and magic diaries in the second novel of the "charming and humorous" (Kirkus Reviews) Potion Diaries series.

After winning the Wilde Hunt, things are looking up for Sam Kemi and her family's potion business—until suddenly they aren't...

When someone goes after her grandfather, stealing his memories and priceless knowledge, the Kemi's Potion Shop is forced to close and Sam is left scrambling for answers—without her grandfather's help. Part of Ostanes's mind is trapped in those memories, and without them he's lost and confused. And the more time passes, the worse his condition becomes.

Hoping to reverse the effect of dark potions on the body, someone is looking for the recipe for aqua vitae—an elixir that can cure any illness—lost in the pages of an old Kemi family diary. But aqua vitae could also be the key to bringing her grandfather back, and that's all Sam really wants. Determined to find Ostanes's memories and the recipe first, Sam finds herself on the most important and perilous Hunt of her life.
There's trouble in Nova and the citizens of the kingdom must once again put their faith in Samantha Kemi to save the day in the final novel of the "charming and humorous" (Kirkus Reviews) Potion Diaries series.

After the royal tour, Samantha Kemi thought she could take a break from saving the day. Her grandfather Ostanes is healthy, she's about to be named a Master Alchemist, and Princess Evelyn is happily married to Prince Stefan.

Except—Sam has no proof that Evelyn is happily married because she hasn't seen the princess in days…Prince Stefan is now the public face of the Royal family.

Princess Evelyn has gone MIA just when Nova (and Sam) needs her most. A surge of magic is spreading across the country—like a virus—and every Talented person is suddenly more powerful. With the Talenteds getting stronger, Ordinary people begin to worry about an imbalance in the magic streams—and in society. When a group of Talented kids—Sam's sister Molly Among them—are attacked with a powerful sleeping potion, Prince Stefan is convinced that the Ordinary people are taking a radical stand against Talenteds and reinstates the old ban on traditional alchemy.

Now Sam's hands are tied. Does she trust Nova's scientists to find a synthetic cure to this curse, or does she break Stefan's royal decree and use her skills to save her little sister—and possibly all of Nova—from a forever sleep?
The Effigies must uncover the connection between Saul, Blackwell, and the Phantoms before it's too late in this epic conclusion to the Effigies trilogy.

The world is in chaos.

After Saul's strike on Oslo—one seemingly led by Maia herself—the Effigies' reputation is in shambles. Now they’re being hunted by nations across the globe, grouped in with the very terrorists they've been trying to stop.

With Maia's resurrected twin, June, carrying out vicious attacks across the world, everyone believes Maia is a killer. Belle has gone rogue, Chae Rin and Lake have disappeared, and the Sect is being dismantled and replaced by a terrifying new world order helmed by Blackwell. As for Saul, his ultimate plan still remains a mystery.

And Maia? No one has seen or heard from her in weeks.

It's all somehow connected—Saul, Phantoms, the Effigies, everything. But if the Effigies can't put the pieces together soon, there may not be much left of the world they've fought so desperately to save.
As a teenager, Audrey Harte went to jail for murder. Now, she uses her own experiences to help catch dangerous killers. Richard le Duke is the most ruthless serial killer criminal psychologist Audrey Harte has ever encountered. When Richard's son -- and suspected accomplice -- is arrested, police hope they have leverage over Richard to get him to release his latest victim. Instead, they find themselves up against a mind almost as warped as his father's. Matthew le Duke will give up his father's location on one condition: Audrey tell him every gruesome detail of her own dark past. If he doesn't contact his father within the hour, a young woman will die, and her murderer will escape. All Audrey has to do is finally reveal what happened that night -- and how it felt to make her first kill.

Week 29 Reviews: Knight Magic, Harvest Song

From Goodreads:
Camille journeys to Otherworld on a quest to find the last member of the Keraastar Knights. There, she must face one of the ancient Fae Lords who stands between her and the key to fulfilling her destiny. And there, she also discovers that her past has come full circle to meet her future.

From Goodreads:
We're the D'Artigo sisters: savvy half-human, half-Fae operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. My sister Camille is the Queen of Dusk & Twilight and married to three hunky men. Menolly is a vampire married to a gorgeous werepuma and a vampire prince. And me? I'm Delilah, a Death Maiden werecat, and I'm about to marry the love of my life. But in the midst of joy, we are facing the escalating war with Shadow Wing. About to attempt one of the most dangerous acts we've ever considered, can we keep the demon armies at bay while luring the demon lord into one final, coordinated attack?

My wedding day to Shade arrives, and somebody invited Murphy's Law along to the ceremony. But the chaos only extends from there. Camille and her Keraastar Knights are finally united and ready. Menolly and Roman are aligning the vampires. And the dragons have pledged their help as the final battle with Shadow Wing draws near. But best laid plans go awry. As our plans fall apart, we must align ourselves with Trytian and the daemons. Will they be able to help us corner Shadow Wing when several of the portals fail and demons begin pouring into Seattle? Or are we too late and will Shadow Wing manage to break through, even without the help of the spirit seals?

My Review:
I loved reading these books so much! So great to read! These characters have been through a whole lt, and it's coming to the conclusion, really quickly! Loved reading these books, they were just so great! Only one full length novel left to go! Boo!

Knight Magic is the last new Camille-narrated story that we're going to get, unless we get a short or novella in the future. Maybe. So yeah, it was almost a little bit hard to read it, because starting to say goodbye to these characters! That big reveal of who the final knight was, yeah, that was a surprise!

I really enjoyed reading Harvest Song because it set up the happy ending that Delilah and Shade have earned! We got to see the journey that they've been on, how they've grown, and yeah, that was just so great to read! A lot happened from Shade's soul being taken to knowing when the rites will happen so she can become pregnant with her Lord's child. Exciting times!

We also got the reason why Delilah in particular is afraid of water, so that was really great, because now she can face it, you know? Oh, and she questions her ability to be a good mom, which is a good step in being a good mom, in my opinion. If you don't care to even worry about it, what are the changes you'll put in the effort to be a good parent? So yeah, that was really great to read!

Loved reading these, and I can't wait for the final book in the series!

Waiting on Wednesday #359, March 28th

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating!

Death Doesn't Bargain by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Expected Publication: May 8th, 2018
From Goodreads:
Death Doesn’t Bargain is the second historical fantasy title in New York Times bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Deadman’s Cross series. Where Deadmen tell their tales, and every soul is damned or redeemed by the final choices they make.

The Deadmen are back...

But so are the demons who have broken free of their eternal prison and are bent on mankind's destruction. The worst of the lot is Vine, determined to claim their lives for taking hers. She will see the world burn...and has the perfect lure to destroy them all. One of their own.

Kalder Dupree has never known a day of mercy. Born to the cruelest of mer-races, he sacrificed himself for his crew and is in Vine's hands. He expects no mercy or rescue.

Yet Cameron Jack is determined to set Kalder free. As a Hellchaser, it's her calling, and she cannot allow even a not-so-innocent to be tortured for an act of kindness that spared her damnation.

To defeat evil, it sometimes takes an even worse evil, and Cameron is willing to do whatever she must to make this right. If Vine thought she had her hands full before, she hasn't seen anything nearly as powerful as Cameron's resolve.

Strange New World by Rachel Vincent
Expected Publication: May 8th, 2018
From Goodreads:
Dahlia 16's life is a lie. The city of Lakeview isn't a utopia that raises individuals for the greater good; it is a clone farm that mass-produces servants for the elite. And because Dahlia breaks the rules, her sisters--the 4,999 girls who share her face--are destroyed.
About to attempt one of the most dangerous acts we’ve ever considered, can we keep the demon armies at bay while luring the demon lord into one final, coordinated attack?

My wedding day to Shade arrives, and somebody invited Murphy’s Law along to the ceremony.

So this week I want to read Lord of Shadows.

Kelly Green had plans for her senior year of college.
Graduate. Get a job. And hopefully find love.
.
What she didn't include was:
1. Getting kidnapped by an arrogant vampire
2. Getting swept into his world of eternal darkness
3. And she certainly didn't plan on falling for him...

Mason is the leader of the Rebels, an army fighting in a secret war that is about to get real. Vampires have enslaved elves for centuries, and Mason's men fight for their freedom.

He's willing do anything to see his people as the victors... whatever it takes.
This includes kidnapping a woman who isn't what she seems and doing whatever he must in order to keep her close...

including pretending to fall in love...
.
But all the magic in the world of Asea can't protect the heart and sooner or later, they'll both have to make a choice that could change the future of an entire nation.

In the world of Asea, destiny's course is set like a dance.
Nothing in life has been left up to chance.

"Destiny must be fulfilled."
.
*Are they ready?*

*Are you?*

Week 18 Review: Moon Shimmers

From Goodreads:
We're the D'Artigo sisters: savvy half-human, half-Fae operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. My sister Delilah is a two-faced werecat and a Death Maiden. Menolly is a vampire married to a gorgeous werepuma and a vampire prince. And me? I'm Camille, a Moon Witch married to three gorgeous husbands, and I'm about to ascend to the throne of Dusk & Twilight. But the path to the throne lies through a labyrinth of dangers, which I must face alone...

Before I can fulfill my destiny to become the Queen of Dusk & Twilight, I must seek out the Keraastar Diamond. But to find the magical gem and take control over the Keraastar Knights, I must venture back to Otherworld, deep into the treacherous Tygerian Mountains. Once there, I face a magical trial by fire. If I fail, the chance to stop Shadow Wing will fade with me. If I succeed, my life will forever change. And I'm not certain which prospect frightens me the most.

My Review:
Oh, wow, another book in this series! I only found this series not that long ago, but this is the first full length novel in the series that was self-published. So I'm glad that I found it when I did! It just made for excellent reading!

In this series, Camille has been a favourite of mine from the start, I enjoyed the books starring her the best. And while I don't know how I'll feel about the next two books, well, this one definitely was at the same level of liked as the other books, maybe more, because this is the book where yeah, self published, and was able to fully go in the direction that Yasmine Galenorn wanted it to. (Or her characters. Maybe her characters, since they're the ones in the story, having the adventures!)

It was so great to be able to dive back into this world again! And also, that we got Shimmer for a bit, given that it's unlikely that we'll get more of the Fly By Night series anytime soon, since it'd also have to be self published. But I have hope for it, because there's so much that I need to know!

This was a very big book for Camille. It takes all the changes that have been happening in her life, and then it takes her on this final journey to get to the place where those changes have been leading her towards. Plus, there's the whole Keraastar Diamond and Knights thing!

Absolutely loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more of this amazing series!

OK, so I got 26 posts in 7 days, and yeah, I'm really excited for this week, because I just really, really want to read A Court of Wings and Ruin! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read A Court of Wings and Ruin and Matchmaker Abduction.

Looming war threatens all Feyre holds dear in the third volume of the #1 New York Times bestselling A Court of Thorns and Roses series.

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin's maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.

As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

In this thrilling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Sarah J. Maas, the earth will be painted red as mighty armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy them all.
True love is said to defy time, but can it survive space, aliens, and being abducted? Angus MacNamara and Erin O’Shea are about to find out.

The big blue planet that most call  Earth desperately needs matchmakers. There is only one small—okay, BIG—problem. No one wants the alien dating service job… No one. The original matchmakers are dead, and much worse, their DNA is no longer viable for cloning.

Solution? Go back in time to some of Earth’s other—thankfully slower spinning—versions, and retrieve the alternates of the one couple in any universe who seems able to do the job.

Far easier said than done though, especially when the alternates are anything but a loving couple, and both are none too pleased to be thrown into the future.

What does oil and water create? Salad dressing or a real mess of aliens, humans, and matchmaking fun!

Week 17 Review: Night Myst

From Goodreads:
Eons ago, vampires tried to turn the Dark Fae in order to harness their magic, only to create a demonic enemy more powerful than they imagined. Now Myst, the Vampiric Fae Queen of the Indigo Court, has enough power to begin a long prophesied supernatural war. And Cicely Waters, a witch who can control the wind, may be the only one who can stop her-and save her beloved Fae prince from the Queen's enslavement.

Cicely Waters, a witch who can control the wind, has returned home to New Forest, Washington, after learning that her family is in danger. The Indigo Court holds the city in fear. People are vanishing, and strange deaths plague the town. And when she is swept into an unexpected and passionate reunion with Grieve, the Fae prince who taught her how to harness the wind, Cicely finds herself with a fierce and territorial lover.

But Greive has been enslaved in Myst's court, and now, caught betwen two evils, the lovers must survive the machinations of the Vampiric Fae queen, even as Cicely untangles the hidden secrets to her own heritage.

My Review:
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! The world was absolutely amazing-and combining vampires and Fae? Yeah, that's totally interesting, and the writing was incredible, and I just loved reading about these characters! So great!

Cicely was interesting to read. She has power, but she hasn't really had time or the training to really explore it. She's lived her life on the move, mostly because of her mom, and only now is ready to come home. And yet, home isn't very welcoming!

I enjoyed her relationships with the people in her life, her cousin, Greive, and the others. There's also the investigation into the Indigo Court, and who they've taken. Which involved some pretty tense situations!

This is only the first book in the series, the Indigo Court is still a pretty big threat. And yeah, it wasn't a perfectly happy ending, but it didn't all go wrong! I just want to know where things are going to go from there!

Absolutely loved this book, and I can't wait to read more of this amazing series!

OK, so I got 28 posts in 7 days, so yeah, a pretty fantastic week! Can't wait for next week! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read After the Dark, The Dastardly Miss Lizzie, Finding Our Forever, No One But You, and A Perfect Obsession.

In New York Times bestselling author Cynthia Eden's gripping new series, a disgraced FBI profiler must save her reputation by stopping a sadistic killer she knows all too well.

Former FBI agent Samantha Dark was one of the most respected profilers in the bureau, an expert on the twisted minds and dark hearts of the most depraved criminals. But when her own former lover turned out to be the serial killer she was hunting, Samantha's career was destroyed. Blamed for the FBI's failure on the complex case, Samantha fled Washington, DC, for the quiet anonymity of Alabama.

Now an all-too-familiar killer is hunting once again. She can catch the sadistic assassin, but that means putting her trust in her former partner, Blake Gamble. Ex-military, Blake is tough, protective, precise. With her entire life on the brink, she knows he wants her back in the FBI…and possibly more.

But someone else wants her, too. A threat is waiting in the dark, a killer who has set his sights on the ultimate trophy victim—Samantha.
Dr. Eliza Jekyll must turn to her dark side, Miss Lizzie Hyde, to stop a madman who’s targeting London’s most important scientists and sorcerers, terrorizing the city with dark magic, in this third Electric Empire novel—a dazzlingly original steampunk fantasy set in the gritty world of alternate Victorian London, with echoes of H. G. Wells’s classic, The Time Machine.

Being two people in one body isn’t easy. Metropolitan Police crime scene physician Eliza Jekyll is trying to maintain a semblance of control, even as her rebellious second self, Lizzie, grows increasingly wild—threatening the respectable Eliza’s reputation and her marriage to Remy Lafayette, the Royal Society investigator and occasional lycanthrope. With England on the brink of war, Remy’s away in sorcery-riddled Paris on a secretive mission that grows ever more sinister. Has he been an enemy agent all along? Or is coping with her secret divided self finally driving Eliza mad?

Eliza needs her mind clear and sharp if she’s to catch an evil genius who is killing eminent scientists. The chase uncovers a murky world of forbidden books, secret laboratories, and a cabal of fanatical inventors whose work could change the world—or destroy it—and who may hold answers to Eliza’s mysterious past.

As sorcery-wielding terrorists attack London, Eliza discovers her own enemies are closing in, driving her to desperate measures—enlisting the aid of the wily, resourceful, mercurial Lizzie—to thwart the killer. But Lizzie’s got her own life now, and true to her nature, will resort to the devious and diabolical to keep it. Even if it means throwing Eliza to the wolves, and letting the world burn. . .
New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak welcomes readers to the town of Silver Springs, where surprises wait around every corner!

The search for her birth mother brought Cora Kelly to the New Horizons Boys Ranch. Getting a job there was easy enough, but confiding in Aiyana, the ranch's owner, that she's really her daughter? Cora's not sure she can do that, not unless she's confident the news will be welcomed. And once she gets to know Elijah Turner--Aiyana's adopted son and ranch manager--that decision becomes even more difficult.

Although Elijah can't deny his deep attraction to Cora, he's always struggled with trust. Anyone with his past would, and there's something about the ranch's newest employee that isn't exactly as it seems. But if the feelings she awakes in his guarded heart are any indication, she might be just what he's long been waiting for.

As Sadie and Dawson's professional relationship grows into something undeniably personal, Sadie realizes there's more to Dawson than the bad boy everyone else see she has a good heart, one that might even be worth fighting for.
Someone is murdering beautiful young women in the New York area and displaying them in mausoleums and underground tombs. The FBI is handling the case, with Special Agent Craig Frasier as lead.

On this occasion, though, Craig fears for the safety of the woman he loves. Because the killer is too close. The body of a young model is found in a catacomb under a two-hundred-year-old church, now deconsecrated and turned into a nightclub. A church directly behind Finnegan's in lower Manhattan.

As more women are murdered, their bodies discovered in underground locations in New York, it's clear that the police and the FBI are dealing with a serial killer. Craig and Kieran are desperate to track down the murderer, a man obsessed with female perfection. Obsessed enough to want to "preserve" that beauty by destroying the women who embody it...
