Dobby's Surgery
OK, so I got 51 posts in 7 days, I read a number number of books, and got to post a lot about them, yeah! And Dobby had his surgery, and it went well, the vet said the way he woke up meant that he was in good health, so that was great! He does have some red in the area, but he has a vet appointment today, because of how the lump was attached this time around, different from the previous two times. But he's been moving around well, so that's great! And if What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read whatever I have left on my my N.E.W.T.'s TBR!

Week 33 Review: Deacon Locke Went to Prom

From Goodreads:
Promposals are taking over Deacon Locke's high school and there is no place left to hide. Even Elijah, resident oddball, is looking to score a date. Although graduation is looming and prom could be his last chance to connect with the classmates he's always kept at a distance, shy and unusually tall Deacon doesn't think he can get up the nerve to ask anyone to the dance. Especially given all the theatrics involved nowadays.

It isn't until Deacon confides in his witty and outgoing best friend, Jean, that he realizes she could be a great person to take. Only problem is Jean isn't your typical prom date. She's older. A lot older.

And she's also Deacon's grandmother.

Strange as it may seem, Deacon doesn't really care what the social fallout might be from having Jean on his arm. He's not exactly popular, so what does he have to lose?

But when Deacon meets Soraya—a girl unlike any other he's ever met—he fears he has totally squandered his chances of having a prom he'll never forget.

Deacon couldn't be more wrong. About everything.

My Review:
I had a great time reading this book. It was hilarious, there was a lot of humour, and I loved the concept of a guy taking his grandmother to prom. Of course, shenanigans go down, and it was just a lot of fun to read this book!

I don't know who my favourite character was, Deacon's grandmother, Jean, or Soraya. They were both really fantastic to read about (I did like Deacon, but he was beat out by the ladies for being my favourite character.) I loved their personalities and who they were, from Jean's strength in raising her wayward son's son, to Soraya, who doesn't let racism get her down, she's just amazing!

I felt bad for Deacon, because he just doesn't have the best of luck in life and love, his dad was not the best person to be around, to grow up around, and now he has stability with his Jean-but she's older, and is acting strangely. Plus, he's on the verge of going to college, so there's a lot of change coming up in his near future.

He's shy, which delays him from asking out one girl. And then he meets Soraya, and it gets complicated. I just loved watching his navigate this period of his life, trying to work up the nerve. I just had a fun time watching him try and deal with all these situations in his life!

I had a great time reading this book, and I'd love to read more by Brian Katcher!

Week 33 Review: The Improbable Theory of Ana & Zak

From Goodreads:
The Improbable Theory of Ana and Zak is Stonewall Book Award-winning author Brian Katcher's hilarious he said/she said romance about two teens recovering from heartbreak and discovering themselves on an out-of-this-world accidental first date.

It all begins when Ana Watson's little brother, Clayton, secretly ditches the quiz bowl semifinals to go to the Washingcon sci-fi convention on what should have been a normal, résumé-building school trip.

If slacker Zak Duquette hadn't talked up the geek fan fest so much, maybe Clayton wouldn't have broken nearly every school rule or jeopardized Ana's last shot at freedom from her uptight parents.

Now, teaming up with Duquette is the only way for Ana to chase down Clayton in the sea of orcs, zombies, bikini-clad princesses, Trekkies, and Smurfs. After all, one does not simply walk into Washingcon.

But in spite of Zak's devil-may-care attitude, he has his own reasons for being as lost as Ana-and Ana may have more in common with him than she thinks. Ana and Zak certainly don't expect the long crazy night, which begins as a nerdfighter manhunt, to transform into so much more…

My Review:
Oh, wow, this book was a lot of fun to read! There were so many adventures at the con, and it was just hilarious to read! Sure, there were some serious moments, but yeah, as a whole, this book was pretty epic and hilarious!

I really enjoyed the relationship between Ana and Zak, she's the over-achiever, and he's the sci fi nerd, and yeah, they shouldn't fit, the whole improbable theory and all, but they were thrown together, and had all these intense experiences, yeah, it was so great to watch them come together!

I felt bad for Ana, with her parents kicking her sister out for getting pregnant, and feeling like she can't make a mistake or else the same thing will happen to her,  yeah, that's a pretty stressful situation! I really liked how it resolved, though!

So much happened in this book. From the quiz bowl to her brother running away, the different events they kept going to to find her brother, yeah, they had some pretty epic adventures! And a lot went wrong, and they were just trying to keep things from falling apart any further, it was just so great to read! Loved how everything worked out!

This book was so fantastic, and I enjoyed it so much! It was just such a great book!
