Week 14 Review: Molly Molloy and the Angel of Death

My Review:
I had such a great time reading this book! I've loved her other books, and this one sounded good, and it absolutely was! It was weird, and not at all what I expected, but I had a really great time with it! I loved reading about Azrael, grim reaper! 

I utterly loved Azrael and Molly's dynamic. That they had all this time together because of a mistake, yeah, it was just that bit funny, in this so very strange novel. They were different, and things are complicated by the fact that he should kill her, but he doesn't. 

The fact Death only knows about human culture from a very narrow scope-but that humanness also means he has to basically scrape it off to go report and such, which was really interesting way at looking at things, and I loved what that meant for his character! 

This story was just so great to read, so strange and adorable, and I just loved this cast of characters, and oh, where it went, between the pregnancy and everything else, I wasn't sure how it was going to end, but I really enjoyed the ride! I'm so glad that I read this book! 

This was a great read and I can't wait to read more by Maria Vale!

OK, so I got 28 posts in 7 days, and yeah, it's been a quiet week, but this current week is my week off, and I'm really going to take advantage of all this time off! Sleeping in is much preferred to getting up at 4:20 for work! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read whatever I want! 

Week 19 Review: Wolf in the Shadows

My Review:
This was such a great read! I really enjoyed getting Julia and Arthur's story! I just love this world, and it makes me a little sad, because according to the author's note after Wonderland in Shifters and Mistletoe, this is the final book in the series. I enjoy it so much, and it's a little sad to say goodbye to these characters and this world!

This book does run parallel with Season of the Wolf, though it continues on after that one finishes, because both Julia and Constantine are taken in by the Pack at the same time. And it was a little strange, because it's been a minute since I read Season of the Wolf, but once I got through the weirdness in my brain, it was really great! Though it does have a brief beginning of what was to come.

Arthur does add something interesting to this world, because of who and what he is, the rage that he has to keep contained. I mean, her journey is bigger, but that doesn't make his any less important, and I'm really glad that they found their happiness, even after his attempts at giving her a choice.

I thought it was really clever what Julia did, with her aunt. It killed two birds with one stone, the threat of her aunt, and the threat of hunters after Varya. Just more proof that she was fitting in, not afraid to be brutal, and I loved it!

This was such a fantastic read, and I can't wait to see what Maria Vale writes next!

My Review:
This was a really fantastic collection of stories! I mainly read it for the Maria Vale book, but I had a great time with all the rest of this holiday shifter stories! Who doesn't like a cozy holiday romance, with a paranormal twist? They were all so great to read!

I thought that this was a collection of shifter stories at Christmas. But almost all of these stories also had a storm, which meant these couples staying together in tight quarters for however long the storm went on. And that was really great to read! 

I was most looking forward to Wonderland, from the Legend of All Wolves series. I thought that it was set before the final book, but in the authors note it said it was set afterwards, which I wish I'd known, but it didn't have an impact on the story. I really enjoyed seeing Lenora and Sten act on this attraction that's been between them for so long! It was a lovely read! 

I haven't read any of the Seven Range Shifters series, but I have read her vampire series, and I had a really great time reading this story! I do think that there's other series in this book, but with the new Goodreads page, it's only showing one series, so I can't be sure. 

I had a really great time with this collection, and I'll have to check out some of these other series!

Magical Readathon: Orilium Update 59

So I read my next book for Magical Readathon: Orilium, and it was Queen which was for the prompt Scroll of Standstill Quest, and I'll be reading Wolf in the Shadows next! So while I read this at the beginning of the month, I didn't have a prompt for it, so I shrugged it off. And then it fit for a quest, and I decided to wait till the end of the month to post it. So that's here.
