The Story: I got the opportunity to review Deliver Me From Evil, and yeah, it sounded really great, so I joined the tour, and I just loved the book! And I eventually read all the books in the series in each subsequent tour for each book! So good! I enjoyed all of them!

The Deliverer: Review
In book three of the "Freedom" series, the main character, Mara, finds herself the object of her uncle's revenge. From a life sentence in prison, Uncle Jefe, who held her as a sex slave in his San Diego brothel, uses his underground connections to kidnap and drag Mara back into the dark shadows of human trafficking. Now in the struggle for her life and her ultimate freedom, Mara finds herself kidnapped and experiencing something she never dreamed possible. She finally finds herself yielding to the One who can truly set her free--not only from her past life and all the fears and scars that go with it, but from herself and her own sin. This time her choice delivers her from the shadow of her name's meaning, "bitter," and into the light of true joy.

My Review:
This was a really fantastic book! A great ending to the series, and wrapped things up very nicely! I really enjoyed it a lot, spending more time with Mara, Jonathan, and Leah, in this book that leads all the characters closer to each other-and to God.
So this is the book were her Uncle Jefe comes back to haunt Mara. And that's not fun at all! It brings back the past, but as a person who's usually a glass half full thinker, the good side is that this a) is what really brings Mara to God, and b) it makes her stronger!
This is the book with the least action. It's more in thoughts and small actions that make up the conflict, and boy, is there a lot of conflict! It's just a heart-warming tale, it's dealing with slavery, and beating it, and God, and it's just a great book!
I loved that ending, it wrapped things up nicely, and while some parts were a bit hard to deal with, like how Mara's family was like, this book was just really good, and ended with some pretty happy endings!

Special Delivery: Review
Mara is fighting against her attraction to Bible college student Jonathan Flannery even while wrestling with risking her own precarious safety to become involved in the rescue of another girl who is pregnant and desperately wants to escape her captors and save her own life, as well as her child s. Halfway around the world in a brothel in Thailand, a young girl is rescued with the promise of being reunited with her younger sister who was adopted by an interracial couple in the States, friends of Jonathan's family. Meanwhile, Jefe Mara's uncle, who held her as a sex slave in his brothel in San Diego for years seeks revenge for Mara's testimony that put him behind bars for life. Will his underworld connections be successful in kidnapping and killing the girl who believes she has finally won her freedom?
My Review:
Oh, I really enjoyed this book! We got to see Mara and Jonathan again, and Chanthra's younger sister, Lawan, and there was conflict, and there was love, and there was all sorts of things, like the hard topics of the sex trade, and slaves, and those topics in unison, well, it's Deliver Me from Evil but from a different perspective, one with a bit more hope, or a bit less, or just a little bit different since Mara was freed.
Jonathan's gone to Bible college, and Mara's come back to San Diego, now a US citizen, and gets a job as a waitress to pay the bills, but she works for freeing other girls who were put in the sex slave trade, because no one should have to go through that.
Jonathan and Leah have were wondering where Mara was, and it was kinda funny, that she was right under their noses, and yeah, that was a really tear-inducing meeting! We know why things are going on, but we still want them to be together!
I really, really loved this book, and I can't wait to read the final book, I think, called The Deliverer, as far as the last few pages of my copy of Special Delivery are concerned!

Ok, so I got 27 posts in 7 days, which I'm really happy with! Got 15 books read, so yeah. Happy!
So this week, I want to read Tiger's Curse, Eve, Ashfall, Dearly, Departed, Every Other Day, Lord of Vampires, White Heat, and Body Heat. Plus everything else (PDF, other netgalley, nano. And since most of these are e-books, I'm also going to be reading physical copies of other books, which means I'm going to get a whole lot more reading done! Whoo!

Deliver Me From Evil: Review
Deliver Me from Evil introduces readers to Mara, an eighteen-year-old girl who has been enslaved for nearly ten years, having been sold by her parents in Mexico and then smuggled across the border into San Diego where she was forced into sexual slavery. Readers will also meet 18-year-old, Bible-college-bound Jonathan and his 16-year-old sister, Leah, whose paths cross Mara's and who become involved in her dramatic rescue.
Interwoven between the stories of Mara, Jonathan, and Leah is the heartbreaking story of another young woman in captivity in the Golden Triangle of Thailand, whose past life mysteriously connects to the young people in San Diego.
My Review:
This was a sad, amazing book! You wouldn't expect there to be a lot of modern day slavery, yet it does exist. And it's a painful, barely-there existance. But still alive, still able to feel the horrors that they were experiencing. This was an eye-opening book, about the world around us, and how cruel people can be.
It was really heartbreaking, that a "client" of Mara, would be prefered because all he wanted was to talk, and have friends. And not use them as they were being sold, as prostitues. But Mara was a survivor, and survived deaths of 2 throughout the book, and the potential death of both a girl who wasn't sold into the life, and her own, she survives, and in the end, she makes a life for herself.
I really liked the characters, and the plot was really great, how they came so close to contacting each other, time and again. It was really good!
This was an excellent book, though not one for the faint of heart, and it's one you guys definitely have to check out!!!
