Happy New Years!!! 2026 Version

Time for another Happy New Year's post! 2025 was kinda an awful year, losing Jax, that was really hard. I'm both glad that we're not in 2025, it hurts being in the first year that he won't see.

So I do have about the same goals that I always do, because I'm not original and I just want to keep going at the things I do have!

1. Like the past 12 years now, just read. Reading is my love and passion, so any book that I want to read, I will try to, even if it takes years to get around to it! Reading more than 500 books is the norm for me, with an official Goodreads goal of however many days there are in that year, and an unofficial goal of 400+.

2. Blog regularly. Reviews will be a subset. I mean posts, having them up on time, in finished form, not the form of the meme, without the actual content of the day. I fell behind on blogging this year, there was just a lot going on.

2. A. Reviews. My goal is still for them to just stay current, trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! I still have a bunch of 2023 reviews, plus half of 2024's, though I did put a dent into all of those this year, but not enough to catch up, though I hope to, this year.

2. B. ARC's. I get ARC's from Edelweiss and NetGalley, and I have for a while. And NetGalley recommends a review written to ARC's requested percentage of 80%. I've really fallen behind on blogging and written reviews, so I need to work on my NetGalley and Edelweiss percentages!

2. C. Catch Up on Authors. What this means is that I read all the books by an author (that I'm interested in) that have been published. I don't know how many authors I'll have this for (since I'm fairly current on my favourite authors, though there's a few exceptions.) I'm not going to have a specific author focus again this year, since a) I couldn't think of one, and b) I've failed these two years I've tried, so just making it a general goal to catch on various authors!

2. D. Yearly challenges. I have LLFL, A-Z Reading Challenge, and 25 Books to read in Year, which I didn't finish again this year, but I'll do my best to finish them this year!

2. E. Series. I'm continuing this one, since from the stats, it did a pretty good job of things, so I'm happy with that! Each month, I'll I'll chose a series that I was current on in a previous year, but has since been continued. A series that I started or continued, but didn't catch up with what was currently published. A series that I haven't touched since 2020. A series that I read from this year, but still need to continue. A series that I haven't started yet, but have been meaning to. Then each month, I'll do one more series from one of these types, so I have 2, it'll just depend on what I'm planning on reading that month. The goal is to finish out as many series as I can, and keep current on the series that are still ongoing.

3. Take care of my health. This has a few prongs, from losing weight, which I know is a pretty staple new years resolution, but I've kept it going these 6 years. I started my journey September 2018 and have been working steadily on it since then. Honestly, I just kept pretty steady, on one hand, Ok, that it hasn't really gotten worse, but it hasn't gotten better, either, which is frustrating.

These are about the same goals, because I copy and pasted this text again from last year, but added the updates this year brought!

What are your guys' goals for 2025? Hope you make them, and made last years! Here's to a great (and hopefully better!) new year! Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2025 Version

Time for another Happy New Year's post! 2024 was a strange year, of ups and downs, but I did read so much.

My personal year? I'm still grieving Dobby, it's been a full year without him now, which is still hard to imagine, plus today is the 6 year anniversary of losing Winky, and I miss them both so much. Jax had some health problems this year, as well, which can only be managed until his quality of life deteriorates, which hurts. But there were some positives, I adopted a cat early in the year, Holly.

Finished on a pretty good note with this, I was pretty consistent this year regarding meme posts! And I even had the form of the meme posts for 2024 done before December, so that was a bit early again!

I got my NetGalley review rate up to 82%. Now I have to work on my Edelweiss rate!

Happy New Years!!! 2024 Version

Time for another Happy New Year's post! 2023 was a hard year, but I did read a lot.

My personal year? Well, it was kinda crappy. Well, not most of it, but the big thing of 2023 for me was that we had to put down Dobby, and seeing last years paragraph about him, it's hurting a bit, that we've now left the last year that he lived. So that hard. That today is the 5 year anniversary of losing Winky, that this is the first year without the both of them, is hurting, as well.

So I do have about the same goals that I always do, because I'm not original and I just want to keep going at the things I do have!

1. Like the past 11 years now, just read.

Finished on a pretty good note with this, I was pretty consistent this year regarding meme posts! And I even had the form of the meme posts for 2024 done before December, so that was a bit early again!

2. A. Reviews. My goal is still for them to just stay current, trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! I did catch up for a month in March or April, and then promptly fell behind and haven't caught up since, so I really hope to catch up, and stay catch up!

2. B. ARC's. I get ARC's from Edelweiss and NetGalley, and I have for a while. And NetGalley recommends a review written to ARC's requested percentage of 80%. So I'm going to make it a goal of mine to hit that, and once I do, to keep it consistent. I got there, and lost it, a few times, and I'm currently in the lost it, but hopefully I can catch up once I write all these already posted reviews!

I have LLFL, A-Z Reading Challenge, and 24 Books to read in Year, which I didn't finish again this year, but I'll do my best to finish them this year!

2. E. Series. I'm continuing this one, since from the stats, it did a pretty good job of things, so I'm happy with that! Each month, I'll I'll chose a series that I was current on in a previous year, but has since been continued. I started my journey September 2018 and have been working steadily on it since then. This year was rough, I'm having trouble with my thyroid, so I haven't quite got the balance of that yet.

These are about the same goals, because I copy and pasted this text again from last year, but added the updates this year brought!

What are your guys' goals for 2024? Hope you make them, and made last years! Here's to a great (and hopefully better!) new year! Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2023 Version

Time for another Happy New Year's post! 2022 just flew by! I read a ton, and it's wild that it's already a new year.

My personal year? It was the first full year with my position, since I started it in February, and boy, I'm a little tired, getting up at 4 am on workdays! Dobby had his 3rd cancer surgery in as many years, it's a August thing, and of course the cancer is already back again like it has for the past 3 years. Poor boy, he turns 15 in March. He's an old man, but otherwise in generally good health, he has lower energy, he sleeps most of the time. But when he goes on walks, he enjoys it, if he's a little slower, and tries to eat everything. Jax is also good, though he gave us a scare when he ate wood and then pooped blood for a week. So I'm glad that they're both doing well.

So I do have about the same goals that I always do, because I'm not original and I just want to keep going at the things I do have!

1. Like the past 10 years now, a full decade, just read. Reading is my love and passion, so any book that I want to read, I will try to, even if it takes years to get around to it! Reading more then 500 books is the norm for me, with an official Goodreads goal of however many days there are in that year, and an unofficial goal of 400+.

2. Blog regularly. Reviews will be a subset. I mean posts, having them up on time, in finished form, not the form of the meme, without the actual content of the day. Finished on a pretty good note with this, I was pretty consistent this year regarding meme posts! And I even had the form of the meme posts for 2021 done before December, so that was a bit early again!

2. A. Reviews. My goal is still for them to just stay current, trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! Still didn't catch up, but I finally finished 2020's reviews, which was great. Now to keep current with 2023, and catch up with 2021 and 2022!

2. B. ARC's. I get ARC's from Edelweiss and NetGalley, and I have for a while. And NetGalley recommends a review written to ARC's requested percentage of 80%. So I'm going to make it a goal of mine to hit that, and once I do, to keep it consistent. I didn't quite get there last year, but I'm still going to try for it this year!

2. C. Catch Up on Authors. What this means is that I read all the books by an author (that I'm interested in) that have been published. I don't know how many authors I'll have this for (since I'm fairly current on my favourite authors, though there's a few exceptions.) I'm not going to have a specific author focus this year, since a) I couldn't think of one, and b) I've failed these two years I've tried, so just making it a general goal to catch on various authors!

2. D. Yearly challenges. I have LLFL, A-Z Reading Challenge, and # Books to read in Year, which I didn't finish again this year, but I'll do my best to finish them this year!

2. E. Series. This is a new one that I thought about this year, inspired by all the people who track their series, and make it a priority to continue them. Each month, I'll either draw, or chose, a series that I was current on in a previous year, but has since been continued. A series that I started or continued, but didn't catch up with what was currently published. 2 series that I haven't touched since 2020. A series that I read from this year, but still need to continue. The goal is to finish out as many series as I can, and keep current on the series that are still ongoing.

3. Take care of my health. This has a few prongs, from losing weight, which I know is a pretty staple new years resolution, but I've kept it going these 4 years. I started my journey September 2018 and have been working steadily on it since then. This year was a bit of a wash, I didn't backslide too much, but I also didn't make much progress. Which is a bit frustrating, but I'll keep working at it!

These are about the same goals, because I copy and pasted this text from last year, but added the updates this year brought!

What are your guys' goals for 2023? Hope you make them, and made last years! Here's to a great new year! Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2022 Version

Time for another Happy New Year's post! 2021 was such a strange year, with the continuing pandemic, but there were vaccines, and it feels like I just did 2021's version of this post. It's so weird!

My personal year? Someone retired at work, so I took their position, which meant steady hours, but those steady hours start at 5 AM, and that's difficult. Dobby had his 4th surgery, even earlier in the year than he had his 3rd, but this time, he doesn't have a new lump coming back already like he did last time, and the vet repeated that he was in good health, so that was great. Especially given that today is the 3rd anniversary of us having to put down Winky. It's good that Dobby is in good health, so he can hit all these milestones with me, of us having him for 14 years, as old as I was when we got them. There's a few variations of that coming up soon! I got both my shots last year, and my booster shot is booked for this month. Oh, and I moved out on my own for the very first time, which is not the most fun think I could think of, but it happened.

So I do have about the same goals that I always do, because I'm not original and I just want to keep going at the things I do have!

1. Like the past 9 years now, wow, just read. Reading is my love and passion, so any book that I want to read, I will try to, even if it takes years to get around to it! I read over 800 books for 2 of the last years, and then about 500 in the other two, and 700 than 600 for 2 years, 560 2 years ago and almost 660 last year. I did read more this year at 674. But my goal for this year is again 400! Though officially for Goodreads, it's 365 yet again! I'll only change if if the year is 366.

I didn't catch up from when I fell behind, and that sucks, but hopefully in 2022 I do catch up! But yeah, failed this goal last year, trying it again this year!

2. B. ARC's. I get ARC's from Edelweiss and NetGalley, and I have for a while. And NetGalley recommends a review written to ARC's requested percentage of 80%. So I'm going to make it a goal of mine to hit that, and once I do, to keep it consistent. For Edelweiss, that is currently 122 books. And for  NetGalley, that's about 116 books, on top of any new ones that I request and don't read right away. which is up a lot from last year, but I'm hoping around 70 and 50  like last year are actually to be read, and the rest are books that I did read, but haven't reviewed yet. Because I'm hoping that I didn't miserably fail at this goal, but of reviews, because I'm massively behind!

2. C. Catch Up on Authors. What this means is that I read all the books by an author (that I'm interested in) that have been published. I don't know how many authors I'll have this for (since I'm fairly current on my favourite authors, though there's a few exceptions.) One author for 2022 that I want to do this for is Ann Aguirre. But I think each year I'll have a primary focus on one author, while still trying to catch up on others. I did fail at last year with Rachel Caine, I still have some books by her, so I am going to continue with those books as well.

2. D. Yearly challenges. I have LLFL, A-Z Reading Challenge, and # Books to read in Year, which I did pretty poorly last year, so I'm officially making things like this a yearly goal for me to work on!

3. Take care of my health. This has a few prongs, from losing weight, which I know is a pretty staple new years resolution, but I've never made it, stopped, and started again. I started my journey September 2018 and have been working steadily on it since then. This year I was making good progress, and then I backslide, which was frustrating, but it was hard, after I moved, to exercise because I still haven't fully unpacked everything I'm going to unpack 5 months later, and of course I wasn't eating the best. I'll try again in the new year! It means eating pretty healthy, it means exercising, it means drinking lots of water, and it means sleeping a good number of hours, which is hard with my work schedule, but I try! It also means taking care of my skin, which I completely dropped the ball on last year, so I'm going to have to work on it!

These are about the same goals, because I copy and pasted this text from last year, but added the updates this year brought!

What are your guys' goals for 2022? Hope you make them, and made last years! Here's to a great new year! Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2021 Version

And that's another year done. Finally! 2020 has been a pretty sucky year for the world, what with the stress of all the big things happening in the world, like Covid, Black Lives Matter, and the 2020 Presidential Election. And I'm just glad that it's over.

Though I did get a good amount of reading done. Personally, there were no real highs or lows. Well, Dobby had his 3rd cancer surgery in the same spot in August, so that was a bit stressful. But also good, because the vet said the way that he came out of the anesthetic said he was in good health, or something positive, since I didn't hear it myself, and this was months ago now. But this was great news for the old man-he turns 13 in March. And I realized this year, that if Dobby makes it to February 2022, then he'll be as old as I was when we got him. And that's just wild, and I'm really hoping he does!

So I do have about the same goals that I always do, but this year, I did think of one or two more, so here they are!

1. Like the past 8 years now, wow, just read. Reading is my love and passion, so any book that I want to read, I will try to, even if it takes years to get around to it! I read over 800 books for 2 of the last years, and then about 500 in the other two, and 700 than 600 for 2 years, 560 last year. I did read more this year at 658. But my goal for this year is again 400! Though officially for Goodreads, it's 365 yet again! I'll only change if if the year is 366.

2. Blog regularly. Reviews will be a subset. I mean posts, having them up on time, in finished form, not the form of the meme, without the actual content of the day. Finished on a pretty good note with this, I was pretty consistent this year regarding meme posts! And I even had the form of the meme posts for 2021 done by mid-December, so that was a bit early again, I even started the last week of November, and less work now!

2. A. Reviews. My goal is still for them to just stay current, trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! I did fall behind in 2020, so I'm going to have to take care that I don't again.

2. B. ARC's. I get ARC's from Edelweiss and NetGalley, and I have for a while. And NetGalley recommends a review written to ARC's requested percentage of 80%. So I'm going to make it a goal of mine to hit that, and once I do, to keep it consistent. For Edewleiss, that is currently 71 books. And for  NetGalley, that's about 50 books, on top of any new ones that I request and don't read right away. So I'm a bit nervous for this, but yeah, a new goal for this year!

2. C. Catch Up on Authors. One thing that I found pleasing near the end of this year, was that I had caught up on authors. And I started this year, doing a stat's post, and I added this in. But what this means is that I read all the books by an author (that I'm interested in) that have been published. I don't know how many authors I'll have this for (since I'm fairly current on my favourite authors, though there's a few exceptions.) One author for 2021 that I want to do this for is Rachel Caine, an author that we lost too early. But I think each year I'll have a primary focus on one author, while still trying to catch up on others.

3. Take care of my health. This has a few prongs, from losing weight, which I know is a pretty staple new years resolution, but I've never made it, stopped, and started again. I started my journey September 2018 and have been working steadily on it since then. This year I stagnated, going back and forth with the same 15 or so pounds, which was frustrating, but I'm determined to continue. It means eating pretty healthy, it means exercising, it means drinking lots of water, and it means sleeping a good number of hours. It also means taking care of my skin, which I did start this up at the end of the year, though not as through as the first time, so hopefully I'll continue.

These are almost the same goals, with a few tweaks for this year. But I did add a few prongs this year, which I'm happy about!

What are your guys' goals for 2021? Hope you make them, and made last years! Here's to a great new year! Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2020 Version

And another year is done! And another decade, which I've done a post about, here. The year got off to horrible start with having to put Winky down, but it had some pretty good moments, like adopting Jax, and getting a job.

So I do have about the same goals that I always do, so here they are!

1. Like the past 7 years now, wow, just read. Reading is my love and passion, so any book that I want to read, I will try to, even if it takes years to get around to it! I read over 800 books for 2 of the last years, and then about 500 in the other two, and 700 than 600 for 2 years, and then around 560 this year. A bit less than last year, but I was working again, so less reading time. So my goal for this year is again 400! Though officially for Goodreads, it's 365 again!

2. Blog regularly. Reviews will be a subset. I mean posts, having them up on time, in finished form, not the form of the meme, without the actual content of the day. Finished on a pretty good note with this, I did fall behind sometimes, but I'm pretty caught up right now regarding meme posts! And I even had the form of the meme posts for 2020 done by mid-December, so that was a bit early, and less work now!

2. A. Reviews. My goal is still for them to just stay current, trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! I'm pretty much on point here, and hopefully I'll continue the trend!

3. Take care of my health. This has a few prongs, from losing weight, which I know is a pretty staple new years resolution, but I've never made it before, and I started my journey last September and have been working steadily on it since then, so I'm doing pretty well with it and have hope that I'll continue it! It means eating pretty healthy, it means exercising, it means drinking lots of water, and it means sleeping a good number of hours. It also means taking care of my skin, which is something relatively new to me. I did start this up, but then lost it, so hopefully I'll pick it back up again.

Yeah, the same goals, copied and pasted from last year, with little updates here and there. I'm predictable, but I don't really have any year goals like I do for the decade.

What are your guys' goals for 2020? Hope you make them, and made last years! Here's to a great new year! Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2019 Version

Well, another year is in the books! It was a pretty good year, I enjoyed it, got a good deal done, and read a lot. It ended on a uneasy note because Winky is sick and while we've been giving her medicine, she just became worse in these last few days, so that's worrisome, but I have hope she'll get better soon. Anyways, here's some of my goals, which aren't too different from previous years, because they are ones that I want to stay consistent with!

1. Like the past 6 years, just read. I just love reading, so any book that I want to read, I will try to, even if it takes years to get around to it! I read over 800 books for 2 of the last years, and then about 500 in the other two, and 700 than 600, and then almost 600 this year. A bit more than last year, maybe, which is good!

2. A. Reviews. My goal is still for them to just stay current, trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! I did fall behind, at least twice with this, and am currently behind. I wanted to finish off the reviews before 2018 ended, but oh, well. I guess I'll finish them this year!

3. Take care of my health. This has a few prongs, from losing weight, which I know is a pretty staple new years resolution, but I've never made it before, and I started my journey in September and have been working steadily on it since then, so I'm doing pretty well with it and have hope that I'll continue it! It means eating pretty healthy, it means exercising, it means drinking lots of water, and it means sleeping a good number of hours. It also means taking care of my skin, which is something relatively new to me.

I learned a lot about myself this year, like there's only so much that I can handle before things fall to the wayside. I don't know how much I can handle, exactly, or what the balance is yet, but I know this about myself now. I also learned that I'm stronger than I thought, both will power and physical strength, and I can build both. I also learned some of my limits, too. So I'll apply that knowledge to this new year.

What are your guys' goals for 2019? Hope you make them, and made last years! Here's to a great new year! Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2018 Version

So another year, another New Years post! This year has been better than last year for the world, it feels like, less global-heart-wrenching deaths, and yeah, I officially graduated college, but I didn't read as much as last year, which is weird, because I had more time. Maybe because I had more time. Who knows!

Anyways, I think I did pretty good with my goals, I did beat my 400 books read goal, I had my meme posts created before January was over and I've already done 2018's meme posts, and all I had to do, and will have to do, is add the day to day content. I did fall behind on reviews from time to time, but yeah, I think I'm ending this year on a good note! 3, 4, and 5, not sure what progress I really made with them, so keeping them for this year!

1. Like the past 5 years, just read. For fun, what I want to, and challenges, but if I don't enjoy a book, I put it down before it starts wasting my time. There are so many fantastic books, that if I don't like it, then why shouldn't I move on to the next utterly great book? I read over 800 books for 2 of the last years, and then about 500 in the other two, and then 700 last year, and this year, around 600, so my goal for this year is again 400! Though officially for Goodreads, it's 365 again!

2. Blog regularly. Reviews will be a subset. I mean posts, having them up on time, in finished form, not the form of the meme, without the actual content of the day. Doing pretty well with this, but keeping it a goal! Especially since this is the year that I put in the content for those that I missed, so everything is up to date going into this new year, and I want to keep it that way! Which doesn't need changing because it's still pretty consistent!

2. A. Reviews. My goal is still for them to just stay current, trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! I don't want to have to go back and have a ton of reviews to write long after the post went live!

3. Find one new thing that I enjoy doing, be it finding more time to play cards, bowling, or whatever, something fun, so I can have what the parents refer to as "balance in my life" or something along the lines that I don't read as much as I do. I'm classifying this to a "maybe" because I am really busy and all, and while I still haven't done this, I have hope for this year! I will always have hope, no matter that I didn't really do this for the past 2 years. Opps.

4. Catch up. Still things to do, still want to do that I just haven't gotten around to. Stuff like growing up adult-y stuff like a job and housing and such. Yeah. Those shudder-inducing plans. Things I still have to do! And again, another thing that I didn't really do this year, but hope for the future!

5. Try and spend time with all family, immediate, and extended, extended is easier, and I was up to weekly visits, and I want to keep that up, it was fun playing with the cousins and cooking. Which is harder to do, since I'm back home, but there's the family dinners that are biweekly in warm weather and around Christmas! Which I did last 2 years, and hope to continue!

What are your guys' goals for 2018? Hope you make them, and made last years, at least half like me! Here's to a great new year! Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2017 Version

So it's the start of another year! For the world, this year has had a lot of ups and downs. Mostly downs. For me, personally, it hasn't been such a wild ride, more steady neutral. But I hope everybody is looking forward to a new year like I am!

I kept pretty caught up on reviews and memes, for the most part, though I do have a few to catch up on! So hopefully I'll get that done this year! And as always, my goals are pretty similar from previous years, just tweaked for this year!

1. Like the past 4 years, just read. For fun, what I want to, and challenges, but if I don't enjoy a book, I put it down before it starts wasting my time. There are so many fantastic books, that if I don't like it, then why shouldn't I move on to the next utterly great book? Happy New Years!!! 2016 Version

I kinda remembered my goals this year, so that's a plus! And I stuck pretty well to them, and now for a new year of them! Most of them are the same as previous years, and then the others are revised for this year, since I caught on on blogging stuff this year!

1. Like the past 4 years, just read. For fun, what I want to, and challenges, but if I don't enjoy a book, I put it down before it starts wasting my time. There are so many fantastic books, that if I don't like it, then why shouldn't I move on to the next utterly great book? I Did It! I Finally Did It! Last Milestone, Got It! Yeah!

So yeah, I'm really, super excited. Because for the first time since late 2011, I have all of my reviews written, as far as I know. I'm going to go through all of them, making sure that they are, and then that'll be done!

This is the last milestone that I wanted to get. Well, it's a combination of 3 of them, finishing all of the 2012 reviews, all of the 2013 reviews, and having all the reviews I have posted, actually having the reviews in it, as far as I know. There was one case where it was empty, but I filled it! Now to check to see if there's any more of those...

Yeah, I feel really good now, because it's finally done, and I don't have to worry about it anymore, because I did make my deadline, because I had till the end of today, and I finally got them all done! And yeah, it feels really, really good!

But now I'm tired, because I spent all day doing reviews, and it added up to 76. So that's now my newest record, beating my last one of 40 by 36. So I almost doubled my record. But I'll hopefully never have another one again, because I don't want this to happen again!

So yeah, this was a pretty good birthday present to myself! What about you guys? Happy reading!

Happy New Years!!! 2015 Version

So again, I forgot my goals, but I think I stuck pretty well to them,

1. Like the past 3 years, just read. For fun, what I want to, and challenges, but if I don't enjoy a book, I put it down before it starts wasting my time. There are so many fantastic books, that if I don't like it, then why shouldn't I move on to the next utterly great book? I've read over 800 books for both of the last 2 years, and then about 550 this past year, so my goal for this year is 400!

2. Blog regularly. Reviews will be a subset. I mean posts, having them up on time, in finished form, not the form of the meme, without the actual content of the day. Doing pretty well with this, but keeping it a goal!

2. A. Reviews. I'm not as badly behind, but it's still pretty bad! So, goal, is to write at least 4  Nope, 5  reviews a day, till caught up, and trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! This is something I really have to work on! And once I finish up 2012 and 2013 reviews, just keeping 2015 current!

3. Find one new thing that I enjoy doing, be it finding more time to play cards, bowling, or whatever, something fun, so I can have what the parents refer to as "balance in my life" or something along the lines that I don't read as much as I do. I'm classifying this to a "maybe" because I am really busy and all, and while I didn't do it last year, I have hope for this year!

4. Catch up. Still things to do, still want to do that I just haven't gotten around to. Stuff like growing up adult-y stuff like a job and housing and such. Yeah. Those shudder-inducing plans. Things I still have to do!

What are your guys' goals for 2015? Hope you make them! Here's to a great new year, and happy reading! As always!

A Few Random Things

So I have a few things that I've been meaning to mention for a a while, on some of them, so I'll itemize them!

  • This week's reviews, the ones that are written, any ways, and some that are partially done, have favourite lines. Which means that I either a) wrote some of the review while I was reading the book or b) made a note of the page(s) so I could go back and add it. I hope to have this is more of my reviews as time goes on, because it means that I'm keeping up with my reviews! Sorry about having some not done!
  • Which leads to my next point. From Tuesday on, besides the Garden of Ashes review, the posts don't have the content. I blame work, as we had a min of 3 jobs a day, and a max of 6. All of which is without a computer-but not without a book. So I'll do my best to add the content later today, as it is past midnight here, and yeah.
  • Another thing about reviews, that I've been meaning to mention for a while, is song(s) for a book, whether it's something that I was listening to while reading a book and I just put it on repeat, or I was reading a book, and remembered some lyrics reminded me of the book, and yeah, just listening to it on repeat, so that sometimes, when I hear the song later, I can remember parts of the book. The first time this happened, it was the Kelly Clarkson Breakaway CD, and these 3 books. A notable one for me is Haven't Had Enough by Marianas Trench, and Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. Both are favourites, extremely, I've listened to that song over 10,000 times, even with my computer's memory being wiped/replaced again and again. The most recent that I remember, is Dark Horse by Katy Perry, and The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson. So whenever I say that a song is a book's, this is what I mean!
  • I had a book idea that I can more clearly see myself writing. Just an idea, and I'd have to come up with a title, and do a little bit of research into rare, terminal illnesses/disease. And if I want to set it now, sometimes in the future, sometime in the future with humans on another planet something like the Linked duo? The main thing is her figuring out what happened to her, but yeah, hmm, just writing this makes me want to connect to another idea that I had, on this idea I had reading Dangerous Tides by Christine Feehan, and how Libby's a healer, and a interaction between Libby, Ty, and his cousin, what if a bad guy had the ability to heal and make you forget the pain you experienced at their hands, especially mentally, so you wouldn't know how badly they actually treated you. Both have some medical elements, and I could shift some things around...I like this. Hopefully I'll write it! But no guarantees, seeing as this is me, and I seem to be on book phases, reading, writing, and blogging. And my writing one ended about 2, 2 1/2  years ago.

Yeah. So those are my random little things that I wanted to say. What about you guys? Happy reading!

Bought Vs. Own

For me, in reviews, for "source" when I have a physical copy of the book, not from the library, it's either bought, or own. Bought, for me, means that I've recently purchased it, while own means that I've had it for a while, almost to the point where I don't know when or where I actually got the book(s).

So that was today's random post, because I was feeling like it. Yep. What about you guys? Happy reading!

Just Finished a Full Week of Reviews!!!!

Yeah!!! I finally finished a full week of reviews!!!! Finally! For the first time in over at least a year. So yeah. It's a bit of a landmark. Hopefully, it won't be one for much longer! I really want to catch up!!! Here's to hoping!!!

Next landmark I hope to get is to have a full week of reviews that a full, as they're published, so I'm going to try that for week 13, and then start working back, because the next one is having all the reviews in a year done, so for 2014 is the 2nd easiest, 2011 the easiest, if by easy is the amount of reviews :) Yep. Because if it was how long ago it was, then 2014 would definitely be easiest!

Happy New Years!!! 2014 Version

Uh. Epic fail on last years goals. Totally forgot them! And they're all pretty appliable for this year, so here they are again, edited for this year.

1. Like the past 2 years, just read. For fun, what I want to, and challenges, but if I don't enjoy a book, I put it down before it starts wasting my time. There are so many fantastic books, that if I don't like it, then why shouldn't I move on to the next utterly great book? I've read over 800 books for both of the last 2 years, but since this hopefully is my last year in college, I want to concentrate on it, so maybe 400 books. Maybe.

2. Blog regularly. Reviews will be a subset. I mean posts, having them up on time, in finished form, not the form of the meme, without the actual content of the day. I will set time out for this, it's important to me. It should be important to me. I like, need to set up a reminder, because I'll think I'll do it later, and then a year later, I haven't done it. Bad me!!!

2. A. Reviews. I'm so behind, it's not even funny. At. All. So, goal, is to write at least 4 reviews a day, till caught up, and trying to write the review of the book, the day that I finish the book. That way, my thoughts are nice and new, and I don't have to struggle to remember some character, or some important part of the plot, or funny little details! This will probably be easier if I have the posts all ready for me and all. Which I don't. I still have posts from August to do.

3. Find one new thing that I enjoy doing, be it finding more time to play cards, bowling, or whatever, something fun, so I can have what the parents refer to as "balance in my life" or something along the lines that I don't read as much as I do. I'm moving this to a "maybe" because I am really busy and all,

4. Catch up. Still things to do, still want to do that I just haven't gotten around to. Stuff like growing up adult-y stuff like a job and housing and such. Yeah. Those shudder-inducing plans.

5. Try and spend time with all family, immediate, and extended, extended is easier, and I was up to bi-weekly visits, and I want to keep that up, it was fun playing with the cousins and cooking.

What are your guys' goals for 2014? Hope you make them! Here's to a great  year, and happy reading!

My First Reread and Reviewed Book

So I'm going to be doing my first reread post, official, in that I've reviewed it once for the blog, and now I'm going to reread it, and see if my review has changed in the time since I read it last. And this first book is Seraphina by Rachel Hartman. I first read it as a NetGalley ARC, and I really enjoyed it, so when I got some Christmas book money, it was one of the books I got. And I decided that I was going to reread it. Because I'm weird like that! So for the setup, it's going to be like other reviews, but there's going to be a link to the previous review, and there's going to be a comparison, if need be, if my opinion on the book has changed, or grown, or if I have more thoughts, ideas, about what might happen in the next books, or about what happened. Yep. So this is like a blogging milestone for me, and I can't wait! Happy reading!
