I Have an Update! #5, July 24th

What I'm Writing: What Happened Then, Happens Now, Reason of Rhyme, and a new book, Safe Room, which is explained below.

New Plots:
Safe Room: They held tickets to go on the most expensive cruise in the world-into outer space. They went to their rooms. And then they heard the screams. What is killing the other rooms, and can they get it before it gets them? And who are the mysterious group who went from room to room before the cruise set off, and now are randomly popping into those same rooms? Each room isolated, who will survive, and what will they do in order to insure their safety?
Reality < Lies: How do you know what is reality, and what is lies? How do you break out of the computer world where you’re taped into, when you don’t remember that you have to? And how much longer can you survive in the computer if there’s a limited supply of food outside, and everyone wants out after you told them?
The Corner of a Round Room: It’s the round room. When you’re bad, you go to it. It’s round, but at the very top, there’s a point. A corner, people say. A corner in the round room. They say, that once, there was 2 rooms. A good room, the corner room, and a bad room, the circle room. But now there’s only the round room. What happened to the corner room, and why did it merge to the round room?
Naive King: What’s the making of a good king? That he’s wise, and able to do what is best for his kingdom, so that the land and the people prosper. Then along comes the Naïve King. Who’s going to be the one to teach him to become the king he could be? And who will try and take advantage of the King’s current weakness? And who’s the girl who pops up everywhere, sometimes helping, and sometimes causing trouble?
Why Not Love?: Well, for one thing, it’s forbidden. The Cursed are the ones who love, they become emotional, and they don’t care too much about anything else but their love. So all emotions where banned, and every 6 months, each person over 18 and under 40 are harvested for their DNA for new children to be created in the tube. But then why isn’t the population changing? When new thoughts start to overtake their minds, the people have a choice. Why not love?

Monthly Word Count: 244 589 words, so pretty good week, and I'm happy with it!

I Have an Update! #3, July 10th

What I'm Writing: I haven't been writing this week, really, been busy with reading and CALM and Chem. But I'm almost done CALM (Just 1 module left) and Chem, well, it's Chem, and then I'll be writing again :)

New Plot Idea: I had a new plot idea this week, and I came up withe the title, As You Sleep. Here's the summary I came up with: Have you ever woken up from a sleep, and still felt tired. Ever just dismissed, you just haven't been sleeping well the past few days? You're not alone. They take us in shifts, so we don't notice it as much, won't tell anyone, and they put us to work. What are we doing, you might ask. There's a bigger question. When will we be done? Because when we're done, what will they do with us?

Monthly Word Count: 69, 277 words. Like I said, a slow week. Oh, well.

I Have an Update! #3, July 3rd

What I'm Writing:  I'm currently writing What Happened Then, Happens Now, Reason of Rhyme, How it Did Crumble, The Last Souls of the Sighing Maiden, The Murder House, Ticket to Fame, Invaded, One Too Young, At A Touch, and Rise Travel. They are in various states of WC, and I hope to increase them by next week.

What I'm Editing: I'm currently editing Forsaken Vows still by typing it up, and How it Did Crumble. Finished editing The Soul Collector, which I'm glad about, but I wasn't in time for my createspace proof. Oh, well. Guess that means that I still have time to edit it some more  :)

Monthly Word Count: 58, 792 words. It is after all, only 2 days in, since what's here right now of today doens't count.  So it's a pretty good WC :)

This was a better week then last week, and I hope for better for this coming one!

New Plot from Title!

So I was browsing the nano forums and I was in the adoptable titles, and I found one. Status: Dead. And in that, sparked a series for me, titles of Status: Dead, Status: Lifeless, Status: Living, But Not For Long, Status: Dying, Status: Born, Status: Living a Full Life.  And I came up with this little summary. Hope you guys like it.

What’s your status? You know, the little barcode on your arm that tells people what you are, who you are, and most importantly, how long you’re going to live. Ever try to extend the time you have? Don’t. You’ll just bring around the Changers, and they’ll bring about a permanent early retirement.

Planning Novel-Inner Fantasies Tied to Deadly Secrets

I have been trying to plan this book out from a dream, and I want to make this book the best one I've ever written. This means planning, this means set characters, this means knowing the plot.
But I'm not so good at that. But I'm trying to work on it. It's going, and going slowly. This is what I have so far:

Inner Fantasies Tied to Deadly Secrets Planning
Girl wants to live a Victorian life, she gets in pod, lives that life. Somehow, she gets out without realizing it, meets her mom, who married the guy who rules the place (Duvlen), Amaling, and it seems to be a utopian, but Oal, a music teacher, shows her the bad sides. Falling in love with Oal, they get out of dodge. Then she finds out that she got out of the pod, but how did she get out? And how long was she in there? And how is all of this pulled together?
Questions to Get Plot Info and Sub Plots:
1. What are the secrets?
A. How did Dove get out of the pod?
B. How long was Dove in the pod?
C. How did Dove get out of the pod without noticing it?
D. What is so important about the pods?
2. Who wanted them kept?
A. DuvlenàWhy? Because he’s the Ruler of Amaling
l à  Minister of Pods àHow did he get to be minister of pods? What did he do?
B. Order of SecretsàWho are they?
I à What are their secrets?
l à Why/how do they keep the secretsàHow far are they willing to go to keep the secrets?
3. Why does Dove want a Victorian life? àBecause of her name
A. Why is her name important? àShe’s going to expose the secrets à Why? à Because she’s seen what happens when secrets like this are kept; her mom, dad, Duvlen.
B. Why was she named that? àHer dad knew what she was going to do àHow did he? àHe was a member of the Order of Secrets, and they have a way of predicting this sort of thing, so that they can keep their secrets.
4. How did Dove get enough $ to get into a pod? àShe fought for it. She won at cards, at knife games, predictions-she’s very lucky with that sort of thing, but that’s why she has the small scars on her hands on her real body.
5. How did Beatrice stay the same age as when Dove went into the pod, as when she came out? àBecause she met Duvlen, and he showed her.
6. Why did Oal become a music teacher?
A. Because he loved music. àWhy does he love music? àBecause it’s the one thing that provided solace to him when he was growing up.
B. What instruments does he like? àAll of themàCan he play all of them? àYes, all the ones that he can get his hands on.
7. Why does Oal’s dad like Duvlen?
A. “Love is irrational. You don’t pick to love that person. You just do. You might hate yourself for it, but you just do” Oal’s Dad’s response.
8. What is wrong with Amaling? àThere’s no police, or other social services. à Why not? à There isn’t enough money for them. àWhy not? àBecause those ruling, the upper class spent it on frivolous things.
9. How did Dove and Oal get out of Amaling? àThey used the secret passageways underneath Duvlen’s house. à How did they know about them? à Dove found them while exploring the tunnels underneath Duvlen and Beatrice’s house. àWhy was she doing that?

New Plot! Jumping to Heights, Short Story

Well, this is a plot that I dreamed of a few days ago, and I finally finished writing it down! Whoo! Well, here it is:
Jumping the Heights: A minor prince whose mother was a maid, and grew up disgraced, decides to go fight for a neighboring princess’s heart. He fights, and then wins against a lot of creatures and people attacking the one country. He wins, and then is going to present himself to the princess, who he’s loved from a distance. But then more people start to come, and he starts to fight them. But then he kills one of them, something he’s never done before. And thus he awakens the curse between the 2 countries. His altitude is now how high the sun is going to be. He starts jumping, and starts to build his leg muscles, so that the days could be longer, and he could spend more time away from the love, for they will never be together, this is a curse forever, and it’s all sad. 5 centuries later, the descendents of the girl is in his home country, and he sees her. And falls in love with her, too. Then there are some issues with him not being able to be with her-can she break the curse?

I also finished a short story, called To Life:

Stone crackled, and stretched. A low groan made its way out of the stone lips as they slowly became flesh and blood.
The creature stirred as it came to life, and took in its surroundings.
It was just as it had been this morning, but for the night that was now invading his every sense, the dark that was his day, the light, his night.
As he started to feel his sense of self emerge, he remembered his duties and responsibilities.
Because of course the humans wouldn’t expect a statue to come to life, and patrol the grounds, it had to be during the night.
Which was perfect for him-he only came to life at night.
He started with the customary prowl through the master’s room, checking that he was where he was supposed to be, if he was in any harm, etc.
He wasn’t, but he also wasn’t alone, and Statue didn’t want to see something untoward, and with the moans coming from the room, he gratefully backed away when he saw the inconspicuous “please leave alone as I’m entertaining lady friends” in the form of a vase.
A very special vase indeed. It made sure that Statue couldn’t cross the threshold of the master’s bedroom.
Thank god! Statue didn’t want to have to see something that was denied to him as he was what he was.
What he was, he didn’t know. All he knew, is what it made him do.
Next was the patrol of the rest of the house, since the master was secure.
Room after room he moved, almost invisible in speed, just an almost transparent blur if you were looking for it.
Since nobody knew about him, nobody would be looking.
Which made him the perfect body/house guard.
He tasted the air on an inhale, and let it out when it told him that only 2 people were in the house, and only the butler, and the cook had been in the house since last night.
Once he was sure that there was nothing different with the house since the previous day, he headed out to patrol the grounds.
At first, there was nothing of concern.
Then he started to hear a clicking, something that was not an insect or animal. It was man made.
Someone was trying to break in.
He scowled at the impertinence of whoever it was, but then smiled at something new to do.
He quickly made his way over to where a group of 3 teenaged boys were standing, holding a bizarre box that was emitting the clicking sounds.
Statue didn’t know what it was, but he didn’t particularly care. It was disrupting the night, helping these boys who were on a prank, most likely, and Statue didn’t like that.
He darted in and picked up the device from the boy’s hand, and zipped over to a nearby tree, and smashed the object against the trunk while the boys looked up at the gush of wind, before the looked at the crumpled remains of the box where Statue had dropped it before darting away.
The boys looked at each other, they’d heard the stories surrounding the Westward Manor.
As a group, they ran away.
From a short distance away, Statue watched them till they were out of sight, on their ways home.
There, a job well done.
All was well. He felt his identity slipping away. It was readying to go back to sleep.
And just like the day before, and the day before that, to days unknown stretching back to the past, it settled into its spot, and went to sleep as the sun rose into the sky.

Yep :) Hope you guys like it :)

New Plot Idea!

This morning when I woke up, I had the most wonderful dream. It was about love and romance (it seems to be a common theme in my dreams, apparently) and very Romeo and Juliet ish, 2 familes pretty much at war with each other, 2 members of those familes falling in love, but it's going to be futuristic, and I don't think that there will be any major deaths (of the MC's, at least, can't say anything about the minor characters that I might have) and the boy is a bit of a, well, let's just say that he kinda has a harem. I don't know why (but I think it has something to do with his looks) but that's kind important to the plot in the first bit, since that's how they meet and all. And then there's going to be a lot of pranks, I'm thinking. And a lot of warfare ish, since the 2 families do hate each other :)

So this new novel is going to be called "Hidden Hearts" or HH for short, and right now, it's about 200 words in and is 1 prologue, and a few lines into chapter 1 :) Will keep you guys posted on the building of HH :)

Plots of My Books

I've written 2 books.
How it Did Fall.
The Soul Collector.

HDF is a 194k long book, based on the myth of Atlantis, with a twist.

SC is a 94k long book, that is based on the idea that there is life beyond death.
Here are the summaries:
How it Did Fall: Humans weren’t the first intelligent people on the earth. The Experiments were. But when they are mysteriously almost wiped out, they go into hiding among the developing humans, and after a bit of confusion, the myth of the lost city of Atlantis is born. Fast forward to 2020, and Atlantis, still alive, as a survivor, has to keep us humans from finding out about them or else our brains would overload from too much information.- Status: Finished
The Soul Collector: Sarah is mad. First she's sent to prison, then somebody kills her. Then she finds out that she's in the middle of the scale for good and bad.  No wonder she likes fights. As she starts to get used to this 'Half World' she is taught to be a soul collector-something she was roped into by the person who killed her, no less-and then her teacher of all that spooky stuff, Tiaz, turns out to be the relative of the head honcho.  And he's planning a rebellion, no less. Along the way of juggling her past, and her present and future, she somehow manages to find a way to solve the balance issue.  But will it be in time?  Because the worlds are all going to die if something isn't done.-Status: Finished

Summary

I write. I talk a lot online. So I decided that I would give some summaries (that can also be found in the page about my plots and books) here.
How it Did Fall: Humans weren’t the first intelligent people on the earth. The Experiments were. But when they are mysteriously almost wiped out, they go into hiding among the developing humans, and after a bit of confusion, the myth of the lost city of Atlantis is born. Fast forward to 2020, and Atlantis, still alive, as a survivor, has to keep us humans from finding out about them or else our brains would overload from too much information.
Because the worlds are all going to die if something isn't done.

Also, the first book that I ever started:
Forsaken Vows: Guy comes home from war to find his parents had been in car accident, dad dead, mom dying. Just before that, she tells him about his half brother. He swears to kill people who cheat on their spouses (his half brother's dad was a married man when conceived) and to kill them the way they fear the most. His brother, and the man who adopted brother are both going to die.
Updates:
HDF: not currently working on, 194k
SC: not currently working on, planning an edit though soon, 94k
HDC: WIP 40k
MH: WIP 38k
FV: WIP, trying to type up right now what is written
That was Then (hereby known as TwT): WIP just over 200 words.

Yep. Hope to have some progress on one of these, at least, soon :)
