My Review:
I had such a great time reading these books again! I really enjoyed them the first time, but now I've read the Dragon Kin series also set in this world, and those little references make much more sense now! It was just so much fun to read these books!
This part of the world, it's more different types of magical creatures, not so much dragons. Which is okay, because they had their series to shine, and now it's others times to get the spotlight. And oh, they were just as fun to read about, with the humour that G.A. Aiken brings to her writing, the chaos!
The Blacksmith Queen, it was great to go back and see the beginnings of that struggle, meet the family, and set up these sisters who turn out to be opposing one another, even though it hurts. Plus Keeley and Caid had an excellent romance!
It's been a minute since I first read The Princess Knight, so I didn't remember all of her and Quinn's story. But the War Monks was an interesting part of the story, given her training, and that they allied with the sister that she's opposing, which brought up an interesting conflict!
Loved reading these books again and I can't wait to continue on with the series!
