I still haven't read book 3, and it's been a long time since I read the first two books, so I might need a reread, but I'm pretty sure that I own it, so I really need to read it! What about you guys? Happy reading!

I don't know! I was enjoying this series, and I own it all. But it has been a while since I read the first two books, though I think I remember a lot of what happens in them...What about you guys? Happy reading! 

Week 36 Review: One Knight Stands

At the behest of the Queen, flame-haired Elspeth leaves St. Jude's Abbey for Wales in search of a cursed rock - the Llech-lafar or "Speaking Stone." For a prophecy warns that if the King should step upon it, he will die.

While riding along the coast, Tarran ap Llyr - bastard grandson of Princess Nest — comes upon a strange sight: a red-haired beauty hanging from a castle's arrow slit. But Tarran is shocked to discover that Elspeth is trying to get into the castle rather than falling out of it.

Elspeth recognizes in Tarran a kindred spirit. He, like her, is a well-trained warrior — though where she is free-spirited, he is stern and guards his secrets closely. And Elspeth knows that on this quest, any Welshman is not to be trusted — especially one whose very touch blinds her to every other thought.

My Review:
Yeah, this book was fantastic! I loved the first book, and I'd only read the first book because I'd had a copy of this one! So that this book was really good, that made it all the more worthwhile, because it was the reason why I started reading this series!

So we're back with another mission from the queen, and another couple! I really enjoyed Elspeth and Tarran, she with a mission, him with a quest to hunt down his wife's killer. And when it turns out that they were going in the same direction, well, more time for sparks to fly!

The whole thing with the speaking stone was very interesting. I'm pretty sure that it's a real legend, and the idea that the King would be the one in the prophecy, yeah, history would've changed if he'd died then!

The ending was pretty intense! I loved how everything tied together, that both of their missions ended up being solved pretty close together, it worked out very well for them! Which was just really fantastic to read!

This book was really fantastic, and I can't wait to read more!

Week 28 Review: A Knight Like No Other

Even behind the abbey walls, Avisa has heard of the conflict between the king and the Archbishop of Canterbury. And the queen has commanded her to keep her majesty's cherished godson, Christian Lovell, from entering the fray.

When Christian "rescues" a damsel in distress on his way to Canterbury, he has no idea the fair-haired beauty was sent to protect him. He has never before known a woman who carries her own broadsword. And when Avisa asks him to help rescue her sister, he has no choice but to follow her.

My Review:
This book was hilarious! I guess I should've expected that from the title, taking the pun of knight and night and all. But I didn't expect it to be as funny and great as it was! This was a really amazing book! So awesome!

The idea that Eleanor of Aquitaine created an all-female abbey for the purpose of training the ladies how to fight, is amazing. From various bits of collected information, this is set about 20 years before Robin Hood, at least, the legend. So it's a different attitude, and I loved reading about ti!

There was a lot of friction between Avisa and Christian. She's been charged with protecting him-and does so by using his instincts to protect her. Plus, she knows what's going on while he doesn't, while he's also dealing with the fact that his dad was branded a coward. Of course they'd get on swimmingly!

So much was going on in this book! There was the deception that Avisa gave, Christian's brother Guy who was something of a pig, Avisa's dad, and the king's orders. It all led to a very entertaining book, and I just loved reading it!

Such an amazing book, and I can't wait to read more of this series!
