Every Thursday I am going to list a book which I really want to read/keep meaning to get to. These are mostly books which have been on my shelf for awhile now but don't have to be, maybe you got it two weeks ago and really want to read it! Thanks to Jodie from Books for Company for this meme!

There's danger in the beauty...

Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long it had been since I'd seen my winged hero— not that I'd been counting. I'd suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist.

But he did. And I was done waiting.

Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.d

Why the time hasn't come yet...
I've fallen really behind on this world, since I had to start over, and that stalled out. But I want to read it! What about you guys? Happy reading!

Warning: Sleeping with a friend might change your life forever.

Sleeping with Kyle was never in the plans. Pretending to be his girlfriend was one thing, but letting our relationship become anything but platonic was another. The problem with mixing friendship with sex is that inevitably feelings get involved, and when that happens there's no turning back.

When Kyle's life fell apart around him, I needed to help, but doing that meant opening myself up to the most terrifying thing in the world—falling in love.

Why the time hasn't come yet...
I haven't read all the previous books in the series, and yeah, it's been a while since I read the ones that I did read, so I have to do some rereading! I hope that I'll get them soon! What about you guys? Happy reading!

OK, so I got  posts in 7 days, What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read Beyond Reach, Deadly Décisions, Solider, The Traitor Prince, and The Wicked Deep.
Now she returns to Grant county, Georgia where the lightning-fast plot, vivid forensic detail, and heart-stopping suspense will thrust readers into the darkest corners of their own imaginations — and push Slaughter to the top of the national bestseller lists.

Sara Linton—resident medical examiner/pediatrician in Grant County, Georgia — has plenty of hardship to deal with, including defending herself in a heartbreaking malpractice suit. So when her husband, Police chief Jeffery Tolliver, learns that his friend and coworker detective Lena Adams has been arrested for murder and needs Sara’s help, she is not sure she can handle the pressure of it all. But soon Sara an Jeffery are sitting through evidence, peeling back the layers of a mystery that grows darker by the day — until an intricate web of betrayal and vengeance begins to unravel. And suddenly the lives of Sara, Lena, and Jeffery are hanging by the slenderest of threads.
Nine-year-old Emily Anne Toussaint is fatally shot on a Montreal street. A North Carolina teenager disappears from her home, and parts of her skeleton are found hundreds of miles away. The shocking deaths propel Tempe Brennan from north to south, and deep into a shattering investigation inside the bizarre culture of outlaw motorcycle gangs -- where one misstep could bring disaster for herself or someone she loves.
From the limitless imagination of Julie Kagawa comes the next thrilling novel in THE TALON SAGA

Forced to choose between becoming an assassin for the dragon organization Talon and being hunted forever as an outcast, Ember Hill now stands with Riley and his band of rogue dragons. She's lost contact with her twin brother, Dante, a Talon devotee, as well as Garret, the former enemy soldier who challenged her beliefs about her human side.

As Ember and Riley hide and regroup to fight another day, Garret journeys alone to the United Kingdom, birthplace of the ancient and secret Order of St. George, to spy on his former brothers and uncover deadly and shocking secrets--secrets that will shake the foundations of dragons and dragonslayers alike and place them all in imminent danger as Talon's new order rises.
Javan Najafai, crown prince of Akram, has spent the last ten years at an elite boarding school, far away from his kingdom. But his eagerly awaited return home is cut short when a mysterious imposter takes his place—and no one believes Javan is the true prince.

After barely escaping the imposter's assassins, Javan is thrown into Maqbara, the kingdom's most dangerous prison. The only way to gain an audience with the king — and reveal Javan's identity — is to fight in Maqbara's yearly tournament. But winning is much harder than acing competitions at school, and soon Javan finds himself beset not just by the terrifying creatures in the arena, but also a band of prisoners allied against him, and even the warden herself.

The only person who can help him is Sajda, who has been enslaved by Maqbara's warden since she was a child, and whose guarded demeanor and powerful right hook keep the prisoners in check. Working with Sajda might be the only way Javan can escape alive — but she has dangerous secrets

Together, Javan and Sajda have to outwit the vicious warden, outfight the deadly creatures, and outlast the murderous prisoners intent on killing Javan. If they fail, they'll be trapped in Maqbara for good—and the secret Sajda's been hiding will bury them both.
Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic meets the Salem Witch trials in this haunting story about three sisters on a quest for revenge—and how love may be the only thing powerful enough to stop them.

Welcome to the cursed town of Sparrow…

Where, two centuries ago, three sisters were sentenced to death for witchery. Stones were tied to their ankles and they were drowned in the deep waters surrounding the town.

Now, for a brief time each summer, the sisters return, stealing the bodies of three weak-hearted girls so that they may seek their revenge, luring boys into the harbor and pulling them under.

Like many locals, seventeen-year-old Penny Talbot has accepted the fate of the town. But this year, on the eve of the sisters’ return, a boy named Bo Carter arrives; unaware of the danger he has just stumbled into.

Mistrust and lies spread quickly through the salty, rain-soaked streets. The townspeople turn against one another. Penny and Bo suspect each other of hiding secrets. And death comes swiftly to those who cannot resist the call of the sisters.

But only Penny sees what others cannot. And she will be forced to choose: save Bo, or save herself.

Week 5 Reviews: Flight, Focus, Found, First & Forever

From Goodreads:
Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad's invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

From Goodreads:
Freshman year of college is hard even when you're not tied to the future king of a supernatural society.

Allie dives into college head first with Hailey as her roommate and the city of New Orleans as her backyard. As things within The Society heat up, Allie realizes that whether she's with Levi or not, she's in far too deep to turn back.

From Goodreads:
Levi might be hot, strong, and have a cool set of wings, but it's not enough to make up for keeping Allie in the dark.

Allie's tired of being left with more questions than answers. She's tired of loving a guy who refuses to level with her. Most of all, she's tired of her life spinning out of control.

Desperate to save Jess no matter the personal cost, Allie has to face the possibility that the only one she can trust is herself.

From Goodreads:
Ever wonder what Levi was thinking in FLIGHT? Find out in the two Levi POV novellas FIRST & FOREVER. This combined edition includes both FIRST (previously released) and FOREVER, a brand new novella. This edition also includes the bonus short story: The Royal Wedding.

FIRST
Levi's got it all. He's a paranormal prince with more money and power than he knows what to do with, but something is missing—a mate. He only has until college graduation to find her. Allie's perfect but she wants nothing to do with him. When attraction becomes something more, will he take a chance and show her who he really is or will he lose everything?

FOREVER

Levi's almost out of time. Allie's the one, he knows it in every grain of his being, but how can he make her see it? Desperate to keep Allie safe and at his side, he takes the biggest risk of his life. Reckless or not there is nothing he wouldn't do to keep her with him... forever

My first review of Flight, Focus, Found
My Review:
I loved reading this series again, but with First & Forever, too, because it wasn't out /it didn't work out when I first read the series. So yeah, to read it all together was just the best! I just love having the full experience, all that the author's given us, you know?

The wold of the Pterons is just so fascinating! I'm so glad that there's the spin off series, because I want to explore it more! There was a good number of details that we got, but there is so much more, I know it! Given that there's all kinds of shifters, yeah, I need to have more!

I remembered the solution to the different guys vying for Allie's approval for leadership, I guess you'd call it? But I forgot the solution to the mishandled bond, so yeah, to read it all over again was just really great!

Being in Levi's head, well, it kinda excused a bit of his asshole moves. I mean, there was a lot of pressure on him, the future king and all. But what I didn't realize was that First & Forever were both Levi's POV of Flight.

I enjoyed this series so, so much and I can't wait to read the spin off series!

One tangled cassette tape. Two tangled lives.

Cassidy snaps. She quits her job and fiancé all in the same day and ends up on her parents’ doorstep. In the midst of everything she is determined to fix a broken cassette tape that she thinks holds the key to rediscovering happiness.

On her quest to fix the tape she meets Leo, a guy as down on his luck as she is lost. What starts with curiosity leads to something resembling a relationship and maybe a chance at love.

OK, so I got 22 posts in 7 days, so a pretty decent week! I really enjoyed it, and I can't wait for next week! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read The Lunatic Cafe, Bloody Bones, The Killing Dance, Night Lost, and Evermore.
Vampire hunter and zombie animator Anita Blake is an expert at sniffing out the bad from the good. But in The Lunatic Cafe she's about to learn that nothing is ever as it seems, especially in matters of the not-so-human heart.

Dating a werewolf with self-esteem issues is stressing Anita out. Especially when something-or someone-starts taking out the city's shapeshifters.
In Laurell K. Hamilton's "New York Times" bestselling novels, Anita Blake, vampire hunter and animator, takes a bite out of crime-of the supernatural kind. But even someone who deals with death on a daily basis can be unnerved by its power...

When Branson, Missouri, is hit with a death wave-four unsolved murders-it doesn't take an expert to realize that all is not well. But luckily for the locals, Anita is an expert-in just the kinds of preternatural goings-on that have everyone spooked. And she's got an "in" with just the kind of creature who can make sense of the slayings: a sexy master vampire known as Jean Claude.
Dating both a vampire and a werewolf isn't easy. But just to complicate Anita's already messy life, someone has put a price on her head. Love cannot save her this time, so she turns to Edward, hitman extraordinaire, for help. But finding the person behind the threat won't be easy, because as both a vampire hunter and zombie reanimator, Anita has made a lot of enemies-both human and otherwise.
Abandoned by his fellow Darkyn, Gabriel Seran is in continual torment as a prisoner of the religious zealots known as the Brethren. His only hope for rescue lies in Nicola Jefferson, a thief seeking a holy relic-and connected to Gabriel in more ways than she can possibly imagine...
The NEW YORK TIMES AND USA Today bestselling Darkyn series continues...

Jayr is proud to be the only female ever permitted to serve as seneschal to a Darkyn lord. But in her centuries of service to Master Byrne, she has fallen in love with him. Now, Byrne plans to step down and hand over the Jardin to another Kyn lord-a move that threatens not only Jayr's position, but her very life...

Week 26 Review: Full Moons and Mistletoe

From Goodreads:
One Alpha Wolf
One Single Mom
And a Christmas neither will ever forget…

Single mom Alexandra will do anything for her son Langdon even if it means hunting down his wolf shifter father who doesn't know the boy exists. With each full moon Langdon comes closer to shifting, and Alexandra knows she's running out of time.

Ryder is the Alpha of his pack and out of his mind longing for his mate who slipped away from him before he could claim her. When Alexandra and Langdon appear in Ryder's life, he'll stop at nothing to protect them and keep his family by his side.

My Review:
This book was so sweet! I mean, I've really enjoyed Alyssa Ivy Rose's books before, but this one is a rare stand alone as far as I've found, and it's shorter than her other works. And yeah, this was a really nice Christmastime story that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Alex has some self-confidence issues. Most of us do, but they're a problem for Ryder, because she's his mate, and she's perfect for him. So that was something that they both had to work on, as well as whether they'd get back together. There was a lot of back and forth that was delicious to read!

While this book was on the shorter end, we did get to know these characters, a bunch about this world. A world, that I would love if it would be expanded, because I just enjoyed it so much! I'm pretty sure that it's not in the big world  that joins the majority of her series.

My one complaint, is that they solved the outside conflict-his uncle kidnapping their child-a little too quickly. He'd built his uncle to have this hard-to-breach fortress, but then they don't even have to make it there. They fight, he kills his uncle, it's over. It was a little too short for my tastes! I wouldn't want the rest of the book to be longer, I really enjoyed the rest of it, I just wish that this part could've been lengthened!

Otherwise, this book was absolutely fantastic, and I really need to read more Alyssa Ivy Rose books!

The Dire Wolves Chronicles continue...

After you have sacrificed your freedom what else is there to lose?

Mary Anne has given her word to Hunter that she’ll stay as his mate, but every second she spends with him takes her further away from Gage when he needs her the most.

Caught between love and duty, Mary Anne discovers that her troubles are just beginning, and that sometimes love comes at a great price.

From Goodreads:
Casey isn't human. The revelation should terrify her, but it doesn't. Instead it excites her. Too bad not everyone is as excited as she is.

Torn between two lives, the only one she's ever known and her life as a paranormal princess, Casey has to decide whether she can trust the man she loves.

Sometimes being a princess isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Why the time hasn't come yet...
Because it's been so long since I read the other series, so I need to reread it first! It sounds and looks so great! What about you guys? Happy reading!
