Week 8 Review: The Nemesis

My Review:
I loved reading this book! After the ending of The Empress, I needed to know what was going to happen! Plus this was the ending of the series, so I had to know how it would all wrap up! And it was such a fantastic story!

Nemesis feels betrayed by Tyrus. He killed her, when she was begging for him to run away with her. And the end of Empress has her ready to kill him. This was a wild ride, but it was totally unexpected! Loved where it started and where it went from there! 

There were plots within secrets and secrets within plots, and I loved learning all of them! They were some pretty interesting and important reveals-though some of them did hurt! But loved what they did to this series, and how important they were! 

Ok, I know things are serious. But I laughed out loud, a big belly laugh, at Tyrus's war against the star. I mean it had an important job-to use up all the weaponry, so that the crumbling of the empire had one less obstacle, but I can't stop laughing, because it also was another way to highlight why power shouldn't be in the hands on one person. That one person might be ill-suited for that power. At least this example is a hilarious one, vs one that causes pain, and it's one that makes the transition cause less pain so win win!

Loved reading this book so much, it was a great read even if the ending was bittersweet, it was such a great book!

Last Letter, First Letter Reading Challenge Update 82

So I read my next LLFL Book!
 
So I read The Nemesis!

Yep. Happy reading!

Here's the link to this year's post with my journey.

What it is:

You pick a book, read it. Then you look at the last letter of the title, for example, "The Adventures of Tom Saywer." Then you take that last letter, and search you TBR piles for a book starting with the last letter, so continuing the example, someone could read "Rotters" next, and then a title that starts with "s."

Rules:
1. Have fun!
2. Read!
3. The last letter of the book you read must be the first letter of the next book you read.
4. Words like "the," "a," "and," and those such don't count as the first letter.
5. If a letter becomes overused, like d, e, l, w, ext., and you run out of books that you really want to read for this challenge, cycle in letters that don't often get used like a, b, i, k, p, ext, and note what you cycle in, where!

OK, so I got 55 posts in 7 days, and it was a pretty fantastic week, lots of great books read, and I'm very happy about that! Can't wait for next week! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read Shadow in the Ember.

Week 41 Review: The Empress

My first review of The Empress
My Review:
This was such a fantastic book! I was apprehensive about reading it, because I knew how poorly things would go for these characters. But it's a really great story, and I loved reading it again! I felt so badly for Nemesis and Tyrus!

I forgot just how much happens in this book, and how many of these moments are up and down. And some of those ups and downs were pretty rapid. So this book definitely messes with my emotions in a big way! 

I did remember some of the things, like that the one planet got that gas used on it, that killed everyone on that planet who wasn't vaccinated. And that Tyrus ended up being forced to be addicted to a drug. But man, the emotions, this book really has some intense moments!

Speaking of intense, their wedding, everything that went down there, up, down, up, down! I really don't know how to feel, that ending was just so harsh, I need to know what's going to happen in the next book, see if that makes sense of what happened in this one! 

This was such a great book, and now I need to read the final one right away!

A 2, which gets me to Steal a Book. I'm going to have to go look, don't know what I'm going with. And what frustrates me is that I saw a book that I'd love to steal, but now I forget which book!

A 8, which gets me to LGBTIA+ Rep. I'm going with We Can Be Heroes by Kyrie McCauley, because apparently one of the lead characters is sapphic in some way. And now we're done with the rolls today, yeah!

OK, so I got 46 posts in 7 days, and it was a pretty great week, I'm so glad for this 4 day long weekend, but I have a lot of catch up still left to do, I kept getting sidetracked yesterday! What about you guys? Happy reading!

Week 13 Review: The Diabolic

My first review of The Diabolic
My Review:
I love this book so much! I love S.J. Kincaid's writing, and this is the start of her 2nd series, and I love it so much, and I was so happy to reread it! The 3rd and final book is coming out this year, and I had to reread in preparation, and I'm so glad that I did, because it's such a great read!

I remembered that Sidonia wasn't there when the Emperor wiped out her family, but I also remembered that she did die. So I knew that the pain she would be feeling, not matter that it original wasn't true, would actually happen, and that just sucks, she seems like a great person!

The politics of this world are pretty infuriating, that these families have access to all this technology, and the few are ruling over this planets of populations. But Tyrus does have ideals for a better Empire, and knowing what's going to happen, that hurts! 

I love these characters, Nemesis is so straightforward, and blunt and I love it! Tyrus, well, he's a beloved mad-man who is just so clever and again, The Empress does its toll on him, but it hasn't happened yet. But I'm dying to see what's going to happen to them in book 3! 

Loved reading this book, and I'm a little scared of rereading The Empress because I know it's going to hit me in the feels!

Book Blogger Hop #13, January 5th

Off the top of my head, A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas, Double Play by Kelley Armstrong, The Empress by S.J. Kincaid, The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter, Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff. I think. I haven't finished my Best Books Read of 2017 quite yet, I'm only in the D's, so this is a rough estimate. And doesn't include my favourite authors like Christine Feehan or Sherrilyn Kenyon. Wanted to shake things up a bit!

So it turns out I used to do this meme, so when I went looking, I found this one, and I was creating this post, and then I was creating a label, but it turns out I had already used it, and I went to see what it was. And it turns out, I used it for this meme! So that's why this is #13, not #1!
