Week 14 Review: The Witch Queen of Halloween

From Goodreads:
The next spellbinding installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling Immortals After Dark series .

A demon soldier of fortune . . .
Rök Kours dives into a dangerous job, only to cross swords with the one woman who bewitched him.

A Wiccan mercenary . . .
Poppy Dyer has never let her uncontrollable magic interfere with her work, but she can barely withstand one demon's charms.

Trapped in a terrifying lair.
If the two rivals can defeat Halloween's worst nightmares to escape a haunted castle, can they overcome their pasts to claim a future together?

My Review:
I had such a great time reading this book! I've really enjoyed this series, and this Halloween tale (published in March, which was mentioned when the book was announced, around Halloween) and oh, I had such a great time with these two!

For some reason, I thought that he was the guy from Shadow's Claim, but nope, it's someone else, I guess he was in Kiss of a Demon King of something, his hunting partner was a hero in a previous book, but it's been a while since I've read most of the series, so I'm not quite sure.

These two were so fun to read about, that they almost got together, but because of what kind of demon he is, he got called away during their date, and they've been antagonistic since then. So their dynamics were pretty interesting, and I loved watching them come to admit their feelings for one another!

I loved watching Poppy figure out her powers, because they were causing her trouble, and she thought that they were a curse, but once she figured it out, its what made her even more powerful. So that turn of events was really great. I'm just am wondering why the beginning was like that, what could've happened, what part do they have to play in the upcoming battle?

This was such a great read and I can't wait to continue the series!
