Week 11 Review: Lessons With the Mothman

From Goodreads:
Elias - freelance consultant to Monster Smash Agency, and prestigiously rare moth fae - has never been in love. Granted, he's never been interested in the emotion, but with his friends mating with their clients, the new curiosity is keeping him up at night. If only the act of loving made any logical sense. And if only he could find someone to draw him in like the moth to the flame.

Victoria is looking for facts not feelings. She wants to understand why the monster species are so much more satisfied than humans, than her. But the handsome mothman who volunteers to aid her study wants to stimulate more than her intelligence. She's willing to explore their physical chemistry, but she wants no part of his designs on her heart.

Some lessons can't be taught, and love is certainly one of them.

My Review:
I had such a blast reading this book! I've really enjoyed her books and the other books in this series, and I was excited to see what Elias and Victoria's relationship would be. I really enjoyed their story, her looking into the science of monsters and satisfaction, and Elias wanting to fall in love.

This is the first book that hardly had anything to do with the agency, the first book was almost fully during appointment, the second, was a series of appointments that was the start of their relationship. Here, the agency is just how they connected because she wanted to gather data, and things progressed from there. But it did bring up the fact that a lot of the workers have been making love matches, and leaving the profession, which from the author's note about the next book, starring our favourite matchmaker.

Victoria was interesting to read about, from the fact that her ex is now engaged to her sister-with Victoria's full blessings-to the particulars of her sex life. Which of course he takes as a bit of a challenge, which I really enjoyed.

I really enjoyed watching their relationship bloom. He wanted love, and she wanted to learn, and the scenarios that he came up, with all the exacting details was a lot of fun to read. One thing that I loved, was that instead of a 3rd act break up, that while they had an argument and had to take some space, it wasn't a dead stop, it was just a bit of a roadblock.

Loved reading this book and I can't wait to read more by Kathryn Moon!
