The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer's permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013. Check out the hop here!
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
The Question of the week is: What is your opinion on modern artists' interpretations of deceased authors such as Edgar Allan Poe, Louisa May Alcott, Charles Dickens, and Jane Austen? Do you think these interpretations represent the authors correctly, or do they disrespect the authors? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
Ok, I have 2 interpretations of this question, of retellings of the books by these authors, and then books that feature those authors as characters in modern books.
For the first, I'd only have a problem if the original disappeared. But if they're just doing retelling of the story, then people don't have to pick it up, and honestly I have a hard time reading books that are older, because of the writing style and trying to decipher what it means, if the retelling like that, it's easier to understand because it's written by someone who uses the same style as I grew up reading, so I don't have to translate it.
For the second, I would have no judgement, since I don't know these authors very well, so I'd have to leave it up to the professionals, and see what they say. What about you guys? Happy reading!

This is an award free blog! Thanks for thinking of me but I just don't have the time to pass it along!
