Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer's permission, I relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013. Check out the hop here! 

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

The Question of the week is: You meet an interesting person of the opposite sex at a club. Suddenly, they start acting as if they're a character in a novel you've read, and they are firmly convinced that they ARE that character. First, which character is it, and second, how do you react? Yeah, I have no idea how they'd be acting or who they'd be, and I don't know how I'd react. Are they crazy, or they actually that character in real life? If the former, I don't know, the later, I would totally embrace it! What about you guys? Happy reading! 

The Reward Challenge Update #375, November 23rd

The Reward Challenge is almost the complete opposite to a book buying ban as you'll end up buying lots of new books throughout the challenge but only after you've completed a certain amount of reading. It was hosted by Good Golly Miss Holly, so thanks to her for starting it!

So I have 15 counts which translates to $7.50 this week! I'll use it to buy a book!

I'm going to be reading Dragonshadow, and I can't wait, Heartstone was a top read of 2017, it was so freaking great! I needs to read this book!

OK, so I got 19 posts in 7 days, which was a pretty great week, I got a good amount done, though I'm still pretty behind on blogging. Boo! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read Dragonshadow, and The Queen's Resistance.

My first review of For Darkness Shows the Stars
My Review:
I loved reading all of these books! I'd only read the first full length book before, so I was really excited to read the whole series, and read them together! I couldn't wait to see how these worlds are connected, because the characters and technology in the second are not in the first!

I really enjoyed being in Kai's head, of the events that happened before Darkness, because those events definitely shaped him! Not all of them were bad, he met some of the characters who he'd be with in Darkness, but there were a lot bad events!

The second book was part spy thriller, part political maneuvering. And when we learn just how connected these worlds are, that was a fantastic reveal! Persis has a lot of balls in the air, and she handles them very well, she was such a great character to read about! 

I know that it's been a while since this series was published, but I would love to have more. Like, a 3rd book staring Ro/Tomorrow or something, because you'd think that they'd heal all the Reduced. I would love to be in the head of a character who was healed of the Reduction.

Loved this series so much, it was a really fantastic read!

Week 46 Review: A Dangerous Collaboration

My Review:
Yeah! Another great book in this series! Of course, a fantastic mystery, but also, more time with these characters that have become very dear! While there's only 1 more book right now on contract as far as I know, hopefully more will be added, because that would be excellent!

I kinda don't know where the title came from. Maybe from Veronica and Stoker working with Tiberius on the mystery of Rosamund. Because that is dangerous. But I'm not quite sure. But that might just be the weirdness in my head wanting that.

So this book picks up pretty quickly after A Treacherous Curse, and then it skips a bunch of time. Which given the emotions that both Veronica and Stoker were dealing with in A Treacherous Curse, well, you can guess what they did with that break, and you have a 50% chance of guessing right!

We got to learn a lot about this island and a number of the people on it. There's some complicated relationships with some of the Romilly family, which muddies the water in the investigation. But that ending, yeah, it was pretty tense!

This book was so fantastic, and I enjoyed it so freaking much! Can't wait for the next book, and then I hope we get more books after that! Because it would be great if this series was continued!

Week 46 Review: Shadow and Ice

My Review:
Yeah, this book was really awesome! I really enjoyed the idea of Earth being a realm to claim, I have read something similar in the Watcher's Quest series by Margaret Buffie, but that was YA, and otherwise, hasn't been something I've read in other books, yeah!

Both Vale and Knox are pretty fierce, and fight for what they want, and to fight to protect who they love. They start off clashing a lot, but as their interests align, the clashing becomes more personal in nature. But keeping up with all the strategies made to keep them alive along the way, of course.

One little thing that I loved was that Vale and Nola were from Strawberry Valley, the town from Gena Showalter's The Original Heartbreakers series, that was just a nice little cross over thing! It was just a nice little detail that we didn't need, but was so awesome to have!

Right now, I'm not totally sure whether this series will have a different hero and heroine each book, or the same for the series. I'm leaning towards the former than the later, because Vale and Knox seem to have found a balance that works for them, and there's other couples who need to do the same!

This book was really fantastic, and I can't wait for the next one!

My Review:
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I mean, I really enjoy every word that Jennifer Lynn Barnes writes, but with each book there's the fear that I won't, so every time, I'm glad that I do enjoy each book. This book was so great, there were so many twists, and the big reveals kept coming and coming! It was so great to read!

Sawyer didn't grow up in the rich, fancy world. She had to be self sufficient, and be more like the parent than her mom was. She didn't care about the judgement of the upper class, but when she enters that world, yeah, I think I felt more culture shock than she did! She was so calm and collected, and I loved her responses! So hilarious!

One thing that I loved about this book was the back and forth between the preceding 9 months, and the present with the girls telling the story in jail. Which as I was writing my short Goodreads review of this book, is kinda important, as 9 months is also the length of a typical pregnancy, and the existence of Sawyer as an illicit pregnancy is a big drive in this book!

So there are a few questions/avenues that the next/future books can take. Where is Ana, what happened to her child, is a biggie. One that I'm randomly wondering, is who was Greer's baby daddy? And what's going to happen once her fake pregnancy is more widely known-as in, her husband? Also, how how Lily and Olivia are going to react to the fact that Sawyer's dad is J.D.? Yeah. Can't wait!

This book was so fantastic, and I can't wait to see where things will go in the sequel!

My Review:
This book was so great! Ian's been a part of this world since the 2nd book, so yeah, it was great to watch the start of his journey to happiness! Well, he finds a lot of it here in this book, but they have to face a bunch of stuff before they can have peace along with the happiness. Yeah.

I really enjoyed reading about Veritas, and how her past and her lineage have shaped her, and the reason why she wants to take down Dagon. Yeah, she didn't have an easy time when she was young, and had ample reason to go after him!

Watching Veritas and Ian interact was pretty hilarious. They're basically from different worlds, her being at least 1000 years old, and him being around 300ish. There was this one scene where they were going to a club that she hadn't been to in a while. Turned out that "a while" was around a century, and the club had shut down. Ian's reaction and their banter then was hilarious!

Their plan in the end was pretty interesting, and took what they'd learned during this book! There were a few sacrifices, and a lot of twists, and yeah, where things were left off, I'm so glad that we're getting a full series with these two, because we need it!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read the next book!
