Week 45 Review: Long Live Evil

From Goodreads:
A TALE FOR EVERYONE WHO'S EVER FALLEN FOR THE VILLAIN…

When her whole life collapsed, Rae still had books. Dying, she seizes a second chance at living: a magical bargain that lets her enter the world of her favourite fantasy series.

She wakes in a castle on the edge of a hellish chasm, in a kingdom on the brink of war. Home to dangerous monsters, scheming courtiers and her favourite fictional character: the Once and Forever Emperor. He's impossibly alluring, as only fiction can be. And in this fantasy world, she discovers she's not the heroine, but the villainess in the Emperor's tale.

So be it. The wicked are better dressed, with better one-liners, even if they're doomed to bad ends. She assembles the wildly disparate villains of the story under her evil leadership, plotting to change their fate. But as the body count rises and the Emperor's fury increases, it seems Rae and her allies may not survive to see the final page.

This adult epic fantasy debut from Sarah Rees Brennan puts the reader in the villain's shoes, for an adventure that is both 'brilliant' (Holly Black) and 'supremely satisfying' (Leigh Bardugo). Expect a rogue's gallery of villains including an axe wielding maid, a shining knight with dark moods, a homicidal bodyguard, and a playboy spymaster with a golden heart and a filthy reputation.

My first review of Long Live Evil
My Review:
I loved reading this book again. I know I only read it for the first time earlier this year, but I've kind of been obsessed with it, and once I got my own physical copy, I've really been itching to reread it. It was just so good and I had a great time reading it again!

This world that is a book in our world, this story that Rae enters, is so interesting! Going in knowing the story already and the reveal twist at the end, I was able to pick up on a few more things made the story even better! How all these characters stories came together and how it ended, and how it got there, yeah, I loved it!

Rae is angry, and rightfully so. She's dying of cancer, and the world has basically abandoned her and cast her in a bad light, because she's angry and doesn't just take the hits like a victim. That she leaves our world and enters this one of the book, only to be in a body that is supposed to be executed the next day is not the best situation to be in.

Knowing that Rae wasn't fully paying attention to the first book, and understood things wrong, not to mention that people from our world change the story, has me really excited for the sequel, because I need to know what's going to happen next! I had such a great time with this book and I know the sequel is gonna be good. I just need to read it because I am obsessed with this story.

This was a really great read, and I can't wait to continue on with the series!
