In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet up once a week to investigate unsolved murders.
But when a brutal killing takes place on their very doorstep, the Thursday Murder Club find themselves in the middle of their first live case. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron might be pushing eighty but they still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
Can our unorthodox but brilliant gang catch the killer before it's too late?
My Review:
This book was such a blast to read! There's been so much hype about it, that when I had the chance, I picked it up, and I'm glad that I did! I really enjoy mysteries, and this set up with these retirees who enjoy mysteries being entangled with one themselves? I had to read it!

I knew going in that it was about a group of retired people who were interested in solving murders, ending up getting involved in a current murder investigation, and that everybody loves it, but other then that, I didn't know what form this story would take.
There isn't a big collection of books that star more elderly characters. I think it's growing right now, especially with the popularity of this series, but I personally haven't read a lot of them. But people who are older, they have more experiences, and it was so interesting to see that applied to solving a mystery.
I really enjoyed seeing how the mystery was done, because they are clever, and came up with some pretty interesting methods of investigations. If this story was a body, I'd said the characters where the bones and ligaments, the mystery was the skin and muscles, and the humour was the blood. They all worked to keep this story going, and I really enjoyed all the elements!
Loved reading this book and I can't wait to continue the series!
