Week 39 Review: The Girl in 6E

My Review:
Ok, this book won't be for everyone. After all, it's about a woman who wants to kill, but keeps herself enclosed in her apartment, and makes a living being a cam girl. So two vices, death and sex, right together. But I enjoyed this book!

Deanna was a pretty fascinating character. She willingly imprisoned herself in her apartment to keep herself from acting on her darker urges. She had a past, and I kinda guessed the one secret, though now I'm kinda wondering if she killed once or twice, since there was a gap of time between reading the first 2/3rds, and the last third.

First off, there were a few footnotes, that lead to articles about the various bits of information that we got. I don't mind that, though I won't be checking the links out, because there were some pretty weird things. But I'm glad they were there, for those that are interested in checking that information out!

There was a mystery, of who the bad guy was, and there were a few options, though I totally didn't guess who it was until it was basically spelled out, so that was really great! I wish we had a few more answers, why the guy was like that, but yeah, pretty satisfying read!

This book was a fantastic read, and I can't wait to read more of this series!

Week 39 Review: Before She Ignites

My Review:
Oh, wow, I devoured this book! It's just under 500 pages, and I read it over the course of an evening! The pages just flew right on by, and yeah, I just enjoyed everything that I was reading! I am reading this book well after it was published, since the other 2 books in the series are out, but that means I can just binge read the other two! I can't wait!

I just want to mention, I know that there was some conflict about the cover, that there was representation in book covers, but that the author isn't a person of colour. As someone who is also white, well, I don't really have anything to say, besides the fact that I'm glad that there is representation. I just wanted to put out there that I knew about it.

There's two fantastic things about this book. Well, there's more, but these are the main things. The first is the setting. It's an interesting world with dragons and the fallen Gods, and I can't wait to learn more about it!

The other is Mira, who has been the symbol of this treaty her whole life. And yeah, it was so great to read about her. She has anxiety and that was kinda hard for me, given that I have a mild version, though no panic attacks. So I'd get worried about her and what was going on. I really enjoyed her journey in this book and I can't wait to read more!

Yeah, this book was fantastic, and I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy!

Week 39 Review: Cast in Oblivion

My first review of Cast in Oblivion
My Review:
Man, I enjoyed reading this book again! I love this series so much, and this book deals with the Adversary at the bottom of the Tower. So yeah, kinda a big deal. There's also the dinner with the Consort that Kaylin desperately tried to stop, but alas. Such a great read!

I read this book again mainly because we're getting closer to Cast in Wisdom, and I'm just really excited for it! And I'm glad that I did, because there's mention of the fief's and the borders, and that's what Wisdom has in its synopsis, so yeah, really excited for that!

I remembered most of the main bits of this story, like the reveal about the first war, and how it ended. But in this series, it's the little things, the politics and new information, that really give it that extra special greatness.

Everything that happened in this book, from the Cohort becoming Lords of the Court, the Adversary,  it's going to change this world. Hopefully for the better! I can't wait to see what's going to happen, like, are we going to see Bellusdeo visiting the High Halls like she was invited to?

Loved reading this book so much, and I can't wait for Cast in Wisdom!

Week 39 Review: Wayward Son

My Review:
Yeah, I really enjoyed reading this book! It's the story after the adventure has happened, and yeah, these characters aren't in a great spot! I enjoyed them going on this road trip, they had a few bumps along the way, like the different vernacular which guides their magic.

There were so many developments in this book. Like we got to meet a dragon, and yeah, that was pretty interesting! Oh, and we met some vampires, and yeah, Bas leaned a lot about that part of him, which was really great to read!

We also see them break the rules, like a lot. Like, they're worried about what's going to happen when then get back home. And I'm interested to see what's going to happen, since the way things ended, well, I want to see how it all plays out!

Oh, and that ending! That was so fantastic, and so great to read! There was so much going on, and it was like, oh, what happened? And then it ended, and I'm like, we need a 3rd book, without a 4 year wait, please and thank you! Ah!

I enjoyed this book so much, it was such a great read, and I really hope that we get more!

Week 39 Review: Immortal Born

My Review:
Man, this book was a lot of fun to read! Well, I think every book by Lynsay Sands is a fun read. That's part of her writing style. I really enjoyed Allie and Magnus, because she's a part of this world, yet knew so little about it, because of all the vampire misconceptions.

Honestly, I kinda forgot about this bad guy. It's been at least 2 books, maybe more, since they were the focus. And going back, the last book that I *know* that they were in, was Vampire Most Wanted, which is book 20. That's 10 books ago. He could've been in one or two of the later ones, but I don't now, and I read that book in 2016, and I've read many books since then. So hopefully I'm forgiven for forgetting this bad guy!

One thing that was different with this book, is that Magnus didn't use the plus sides of the life mate bond, until Allie agreed to it all. For good reason, given the way that she was introduced to this world and her focus on her son. So there wasn't any shared dreams in this book, but there were plenty of long glances!

This series is so long running, sometimes it's hard to remember all of these characters, especially since they aren't in every book. So I enjoyed this trip back to Port Henry, and the updates in the lives of those there, since there's been a spur of babies born, which is so darned cute!

Yeah, this was a fantastic read, and I enjoyed it a lot!

Week 39 Reviews: Siren's Song, Dragon's Claw

My first review of Dragon's Claw
My Review:
Yes, wow, I really enjoyed reading these back to back! I mean, it's been a while since I first read Dragon's Claw, so I had to read it again after reading Siren's Song. And I've also read Brave the Tempest, which happens after these two. So I really wanted to know Prikin's side of things!

I really enjoyed seeing things from Pritkin's perspective, since he knew about the taking down of the pillars longer than Dory did, because that's a main focus of why he's there. Well, and the mages being under the control of some who is using them for nefarious means. Yeah.

There's this whole scene where Pritkin is with Dorina, doing mind things, that's not in Dragon's Claw, which is so freaking great, I really enjoyed seeing these two spend more time together. And I mean Dorina, not Dory. And I totally understand why we got in in Siren's Song but not Dragon's Claw!

How they both faced their various bad guys, and that these stories weaved together, it was really fantastic to read! There was a lot going on in this city, and seeing it from both of their perspectives gave us a broader look at everything that was going on and it was so great!

Yeah, these were such great reads, and I enjoyed them so much!

24 Hour Reading Challenge 2nd September Sign Up

So I've decided to do my 2nd September 24 Hour Reading Challenge, to start tomorrow, September 28th, at 12 PM, to end at the same time on the 29th. This works with my schedule since I don't work on the weekends right now, and I have a family supper on Sunday. This gives me time to do blog stuff before I start reading, so I'm satisfied with it!

As always, my goal is 6-8 books. The books that I want to read are Before Now, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Autoboyagraphy, All the Things We Do in the Dark, The Athena Protocol, The Gallery of Unfinished Girls, Bombshell, Be Not Far From Me, This Darkness Mine, Gem & Dixie, Verify, The Rest Falls Away, 99 Days.

Yeah, there's a lot of overlapping books. But there's a few new ones as well, and I hope to read as many of these as I can! Again, I picked some of the shorter books, so I hope to breeze through a lot of books in this 24 hour period!
