Week 26 Review: Can't Spell Treason Without Tea

From Goodreads:
In the tradition of Legends & Lattes, comes a cozy fantasy steeped in sapphic romance about one of the Queen's private guards and a powerful mage who want to open a bookshop and live happily ever after…if only the world would let them.

All Reyna and Kianthe want is to open a bookshop that serves tea. Worn wooden floors, plants on every table, firelight drifting between the rafters… all complemented by love and good company. Thing is, Reyna works as one of the Queen's private guards, and Kianthe is the most powerful mage in existence. Leaving their lives isn't so easy.

But after an assassin takes Reyna hostage, she decides she's thoroughly done risking her life for a self-centered queen. Meanwhile, Kianthe has been waiting for a chance to flee responsibility–all the better that her girlfriend is on board. Together, they settle in Tawney, a town nestled in the icy tundra near dragon country, and open the shop of their dreams.

What follows is a cozy tale of mishaps, mysteries, and a murderous queen throwing the realm's biggest temper tantrum. In a story brimming with hurt/comfort and quiet fireside conversations, these two women will discover just what they mean to each other… and the world.

My Review:
I had such a fun time reading this book! The idea of this powerful mage, and a corrupt queen's guard running away together to start a book and tea shop, sounds pretty nice! I adored reading about these two as they set up their shop, and all the complications that came alongside it!

The humor with the puns, that's been carried into the titles of the books in this series? Absolutely love it! Because that's Kianthe's humour, and I love how that's been carried over to the titles of this series, just gives them that extra bit of personality!

I'm so glad that Reyna walked away from being a Queensguard. Even though that is dangerous, since none have before, well, she's the Arcandor's girlfriend, which adds both positives and negatives-it's a title that protectors her, but then it adds in all the politics.

Watching them find this place in this small town, dealing with the bandits from whom they whisked this building away from, to the two leaders of the town from the two countries that lay claim on it, and the townsfolk of Tawney, there was a lot of fun! Not to mention the dragons!

Loved reading this book and I can't wait to continue on with this series!
