Week 32 Review: Wordless

From Goodreads:
"The Gods made their Words into flesh, giving privileged individuals the powers of creation . . ."

In Eden City, a member of the illiterate wordless class would never dream of meeting the all-powerful Words . . . much less of running away with one. So when a gorgeous girl literally falls into his lap during a routine trash run, seventeen-year-old Tavin Barnes isn't sure if it's the luckiest or worst day of his life. That girl is Khaya, the Word of Life, who can heal a wound or command an ivy bush to devour a city block with ease. And yet she needs Tavin's help.

By aiding Khaya's escape from the seemingly idyllic confines of Eden City, Tavin unwittingly throws himself into the heart of a conflict that is threatening to tear the world apart. Eden City's elite will stop at nothing to protect the shocking secret Khaya hides, and they enlist the other Words, each with their own frightening powers, to bring her back.

My Review:
This was such a fantastic read! I've really enjoyed her queer books under A.M. Strickland, so I was really excited to go back and read her other books, which I don't know why I didn't pick them up, because they sounded so good. But I didn't until now, and I can't wait to continue!

The synopsis of this book sounded really interesting, the idea of people who are various Words that have this power, sounded really interesting! That it's set in this utopian world (which usually means dystopian but hidden from the populace) yeah, I really enjoyed exploring this world with these characters!

What made me mad, was the worldless class, that they're illiterate, and forced into this awful system of oppression. So I was rooting for Tavin, and I just hoped that they would both be okay by the end of the book, but it is a duology, so I knew whatever happened, there would be more.

I had such a great time reading about Tavin and Khaya, I just loved their story, and I really enjoyed them together, they were really adorable! Which made that end, that twist, such a gut-wrench, and has me so excited to continue on to book 2!

Absolutely loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read the sequel!
