So this week I want to read Arkangel.

1. For each week of the month, I'll do 3 spins each week to read each week though I do have the rest of the month to read them. Once a prompt is used, I'll randomly choose one from the list, keeping track of how often a colour comes up. If colour comes up 3 or more times in month, I'll do another spin once it comes up 3 times.

Week 31 Review: The Mirror of Beasts
With the dream of Avalon in ruins, Tamsin and her friends are all that stands in the way of Lord Death's plans to unleash the horrors of Anwnn on the world of the living. My Review:
I loved reading this book! I've loved her books from the beginning, and I had to know how this story would continue on after the ending of the first book. It was such a wild ride, and such a great story, and I couldn't get enough!
The cliffhanger ending of the first book, where it left these characters, I had to know how they were going to deal with that. What happened was pretty game changing, and I loved seeing how they adapted, and found a way forward.
Tamsin went through a lot, with her brother and with how she was betrayed. That she wasn't someone who trusted easily in the first place, that was hard for her to deal with. It was so engaging to watch her deal with those emotions, and how she can continue to put her trust in people.
I wasn't sure how they were going to deal with everything, but I knew I could trust Alexandra Bracken to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion, and she did! It was so well done, so entertaining, and really great to see where we left these characters!
Loved reading this book, and I can't wait for whatever's next from Alexandra Bracken!

Week 31 Review: Adrift in Currents Clean and Clear
Giant turtles, impossible ships, and tidal rivers ridden by a Drowned girl in search of a family in the latest in the bestselling Hugo and Nebula Award-Winning Wayward Children series from Seanan McGuire.
Nadya had three mothers: the one who bore her, the country that poisoned her, and the one who adopted her.
Nadya never considered herself less than whole, not until her adoptive parents fitted her with a prosthetic arm against her will, seeking to replace the one she'd been missing from birth.
It was cumbersome; it was uncomfortable; it was wrong.
It wasn't her.
Frustrated and unable to express why, Nadya began to wander, until the day she fell through a door into Belyrreka, the Land Beneath the Lake--and found herself in a world of water, filled with child-eating amphibians, majestic giant turtles, and impossible ships that sailed as happily beneath the surface as on top. In Belyrreka, she found herself understood for who she was: a Drowned Girl, who had made her way to her real home, accepted by the river and its people.
But even in Belyrreka, there are dangers, and trials, and Nadya would soon find herself fighting to keep hold of everything she had come to treasure.
My Review:
Oh, I loved reading this book! I love Seanan McGuire's writing and this world so much, and this latest story, another one with the kid first coming to a new world, was great, I really enjoyed getting to Nadya and the world that fits her!
Nadya was born without one arm, and was raised in an orphanage, before a couple from America adopt her. She's strong and resilient, and being forced to wear a prosthetic, without being asked if she wanted to, yeah. Her thoughts about her adoptive parents, about how they treat her like a thing and not a child, felt very true!
The world of Belyrreka, of the drowned and all the water, and the turtles, I really enjoyed watching Nadya learn and explore it as a scout, with Burian. The understanding this world has of the doors and the children that find themselves in different world was really well done!
Of course, this is an even book in the series, meaning that this is a story of a child's time in their true world, meaning that they eventually end up back in our world, no matter how much they don't want to. Nadya's future, back with her adoptive parents, well, I really hope she's going to be able to get back to Belyrreka and the life that she built there!
Loved reading this book and I can't wait to read more by Seanan McGuire!
