Week 7 Review: Cinder

From Goodreads:
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth's fate hinges on one girl... Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She's a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister's illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai's, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world's future.

My Review:
The far more modern then the current modern-day retelling of Cinderella, with androids, cyborgs, lunar people, and a plague that has 3 parts, the last killing people, is such a great book! It was so addicting, controlling my fingers and eyes, that I just had to read another page, click to the next chapter, with a compelling story line, a wonderfully depicted setting, and full that they just pop off the page characters, I loved Cinder! There was romance, mystery, and it was different, and amazing! I just want to read the next 3 books right now!!!

Cinder is a mechanic, and she's according to the law, property of her adoptive mom, because she's a Cyborg, that she has pieces of metal in her, and that makes her eligible to be randomly selected to try and create a cure for the plague that's been going on. When her adoptive sister contracts the plague, and maybe from Cinder, her "mom" puts her up for that, so that she can get rid of Cinder. But when Cinder's injected with the plague, her body fights it, and then she's clear. And as events develop, she spends more time with Prince Kai, after fixing his tutor bot, and plots are uncovered, and secrets, and the fact that the Lunar people were the first ones with the plague, and then passed it to Earth, and that they already had a cure, and let millions die, well, that shouldn't go over well.

And when Cinder is found out as Lunar, I guessed even before that, that she was the missing Lunar Princess, because the time of her accident, when she was 8, was when the princess disappeared, and they only found bits of her, and she was missing bits of herself, and well, it just made sense, plot-wise, and then when the Queen finds that out, well, she tries to kill Cinder, but she escapes, and while some of the decisions that Kai make at the end aren't really the best, I have hope for the next book that they can work it out! And I can't wait to read it!

This was an awesome book, and I was so lucky to read it! I want to read more! Now people, read it now!!!
