Week 20 Review: Secret Life of a Vampire

From Goodreads:
Lara Boucher will do whatever it takes to get that coveted promotion to detective. She knows that something strange was happening at the incredibly handsome Jack's party. Working that out will have to take a back seat to discover why so many college girls have gone missing. But the last thing she expects when she goes undercover at the so-called 'spa' is to run into Jack again - or to feel such a strong attraction. The last thing Jack wants is to become the kind of man his father was. But that's just what's required if he's going to bring down this latest ring of Malcontents. Drawing on his legendary Casanova lineage, Jack works his way into the group. But will he be able to show Lara the man he really is without jeopardizing their mission? And can Lara ever trust a man with so many secrets?

My Review:
Yeah, another fun book in this series! A lot of fun, and it started right at the beginning, with a bachelor party that had the police called in! So hilarious, and it just kept going! Plus there was the mystery of the missing college girls! Lots going on!

I enjoyed these characters! Lara was a beauty pageant contestant because of her mom-and when she's in a horrible accident, it starts her on a path to be a cop. Jack is the son of legendary Casanova, but he fears his skills are at the same level as his dad's. Both wonderful characters!

Of the first 6 books in this series, 3 have had where one member of the couple didn't know about vampires, the 1st, the 4th, and this book. And that dynamic is so fun to read, because there's keeping the secret, and all the shenanigans that can happen! So awesome!

What these bad vampires did in this book, was pretty horrible. Making them think that they were on another realm, making them servants, giving them the possibility to become Goddesses, but the way that they were treated? Oh, yeah, killing is totally uncool when the person is innocent/self defense!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more!
