Week 17 Review: Wolfsbane, Treachery, Bloodrose, Aftermath

When Calla Tor wakes up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemies, she's certain her days are numbered. But then the Searchers make her an offer, one that gives her the chance to destroy her former masters and save the pack and the man she left behind. Is Ren worth the price of her freedom? And will Shay stand by her side no matter what? Now in control of her own destiny, Calla must decide which battles are worth fighting and how many trials true love can endure and still survive.

Ansel's world is falling apart. The Nightshade pack led by his parents has been violently destroyed. His sister, Calla, abandoned her little brother, leaving him to answer for her crimes. And the Haldis pack that would have been his future is irreparably broken by Calla's betrayal. Suffering at the hands of the Keepers, Ansel is losing everything he's ever loved. The only chance he has to save himself means an alliance with his tormentors, and repaying Calla in full for her treachery.

From Goodreads:
Calla has always welcomed war.

But now that the final battle is upon her, there's more at stake than fighting. There's saving Ren, even if it incurs Shay's wrath. There's keeping Ansel safe, even if he's been branded a traitor. There's proving herself as the pack's alpha, facing unnamable horrors, and ridding the world of the Keepers' magic once and for all. And then there's deciding what to do when the war ends. If Calla makes it out alive, that is.

Picking up where BLOODROSE left off, this short story delves into the aftermath of the final battle between the Searchers, the Keepers and the Guardians. Adne is haunted by her past actions, Logan is running for his life, and the Searchers still don't feel safe. What they thought was the end of the War of All against All may just be the beginning of something even more sinister..

My first review of Wolfsbane, Bloodrose
My Review:
I loved reading these books! I love this world so much, and it was the first time that I've read the short stories, but I'm so glad that I did, they were so great to read! But boy did they bring out some emotions, because man, the ending of Bloodrose hits hard!

I really enjoyed following along to the end of Calla's story, it's just so good, and she goes through a lot throughout this series, there's some really hard choices, and I felt for her, having to make them. But oh, was it so great to read!

Treachery, it was really interesting to read, to be in Ansel's head, of seeing what he went through, which was quite a bit. I felt so sorry for him, going through what he did, and totally understand why he did what he did, even if I wish he hadn't. It was just a bad situation!

And then Aftermath, which has me so excited! I haven't read the Nightshade Legacy, which says is supposed to be 3 books, but only 1 is out in 2018, so it's unlikely that we'll get more. But it was great to see some of the set up for that spin off series! I can't wait to read Snakeroot!

These were such great reads and I can't wait to continue on with this world!
