An irresistible story from Kasie West that explores the timeless question What do you do when you fall for the person you least expect?
When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn't think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn't know much about Dax except that he's trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he's not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.
Only he doesn't come. No one does.
Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn at first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax's side?
My Review:
I absolutely loved reading this book! Kasie West's contemporary books have always been great, light but life, real life, and yeah, this one was, as well! A funny story, was that when I picked this book to read, I thought it was one of her earlier ones. So when I found it was her latest, I thought, well, yeah, I read this book before it came out! Finally! Because I got ARC's of some of her earlier books and I haven't read them yet! Opps!
Honestly, if I had enough food, well, being locked in the library for a weekend doesn't sound too bad! Because all that free time, and all those books! And being by myself! Well, that's not what happens here, since it's Autumn and Dax!
Watching Autumn and Dax start a friendship that maybe means something more to them, basically because they were forced to spend time together, was pretty fantastic! Watching her draw him out,, and the antics that they got into, was pretty hilarious!
The whole thing with her friends and not noticing she was missing, and how everything turned out to be there, yeah, that was pretty eventful and not what it seemed! And then, when they kinda kidnapped her, yeah, that wasn't fun, but it all worked out in the end!
Loved this book, it was absolutely fantastic, and I can't wait to read more by Kasie West!
