Well of course I loved reading these books again, it was the 4th and 5th times, for the various books, I just adore this series and these characters, and what with the new Simon and Meg story in The Lady in Glass and Other Stories, I just had to go back and reread these, it's been a minute since the last time I read them.
Meg goes through a lot of changes, by running away, by making her home in the Courtyard. She's a cassandra sangue, and change is not good for her, and I just loved her journey, how she fits into this group, finds her place. It was so heart-warming. Plus her and Simon, I'm so excited for more of them, together!
This world really goes through a major rehaul in this series, with what the Humans First and Last movement did, and the response to that. But I mean, they were idiots, and awful people-did they think that the terra indigene weren't watching, listening and paying attention? Honestly, they deserved what the Elders dished out.
There's such a great balance in this series, of humour, friendship, uncertainty, bloodshed, and gore, and thrilling moments, that just work into an excellent story. I love these stories every time I read them, and they never get old, I just want to cuddle with them!
Loved reading these books so much, and I can't wait to continue on!
