Week 34 Review: Second Star

From Goodreads:
A twisty story about love, loss, and lies, this contemporary oceanside adventure is tinged with a touch of dark magic as it follows seventeen-year-old Wendy Darling on a search for her missing surfer brothers. Wendy's journey leads her to a mysterious hidden cove inhabited by a tribe of young renegade surfers, most of them runaways like her brothers. Wendy is instantly drawn to the cove's charismatic leader, Pete, but her search also points her toward Pete's nemesis, the drug-dealing Jas. Enigmatic, dangerous, and handsome, Jas pulls Wendy in even as she's falling hard for Pete. A radical reinvention of a classic, Second Star is an irresistible summer romance about two young men who have yet to grow up--and the troubled beauty trapped between them.

My Review:
This was a really great book to read! I enjoyed it a lot, it was a bit short, but it did pack in quite a bit into what pages it did have! I really enjoyed this retelling of Peter Pan, it was different, and really enjoyable to read!

It has been a long while since I've seen the movie Peter Pan, but I can kinda remember some of the basics. So having this book about surfing, where her brother's ran away, and the relationships that Wendy has with Pete and Jas, really fantastic to read about!

This book is about the mystery of the disappearance of her twin brothers. And of her retracing some of their steps, thought not in the most logical order. And while she didn't enjoy learning all that she did, she found out the truth.

A truth that hurt, but at least she could have some closure over what happened. And while people might have thought that she was on drugs the whole time, that she had hallucinations, made it all up, well, she had proof that it wasn't the case!

Really great book! Enjoyable, and just really great to read!
