Week 6 Review: Vengeance Road

From Goodreads:
Go zero to sixty in this dangerously sexy novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.

Breezy Simmons was born into a ruthless motorcycle club—and now that she's out, she's never going to be that girl again. But when her past catches up with her, Breezy must go to Sea Haven to seek out the man who almost destroyed her. The man who chose his club over her and left her feeling used and alone.

As vice president of Torpedo Ink, Steele is ride or die for the brothers he lived through hell with. He never thought he'd find something as pure as his feelings for Breezy, or that keeping her safe would mean driving her away with cruel words that turned her love for him to ash.

Now, Steele won't let her walk away twice. He'll do whatever it takes to make Breezy his woman again—especially when he learns the real reason she came to him for help, and that the stakes are higher than he ever could have imagined…

My Review:
Yeah, I enjoyed reading this book. Like the Leopard series, it's not my favourite, the guys are just a little too overbearing for me, but I do still enjoy reading about these characters! My one other complain besides the guys is that the first two series, the magical abilities were an open thing, and kinda a big part of their books. This series, some things are mentioned, but not really explained. Like, I thought that these gifts were really rare. So I'd like a bit more detail there!

So it turns out that Czar isn't the only one who jeopardized his future of happiness because of the "taking down the Swords" mission. So did Steele, though he only met his love because of the mission, because she was born in the club. And then he messed it up by pushing her away and out to protect her from what was coming. But she didn't know that, so they left on very poor terms. And now she's coming back because she needs him because she's being pulled back into the club life through the worst possible leverage.

Sometimes, Steele really got on my nerves. There's this one point where he's like, if you love me, you love the club, accept the club, and she's like, no, clubs are bad, know it from experience. And he pushes, and then suddenly backs off. That was weird, but there were other, more annoying times where he pushed the club and club culture on her.

Steele told us early on that there was supposed to have been one more survivor, and it's because of his mistake that that person didn't survive. It's not till the end that we get that story. And it's one that pulls on the heartstrings and explains why Steele is like he is.

Loved reading this book, it was really enjoyable, and I can't wait to see where this series leads! Also can't wait to find out who's going to star in the next book!
