Week 17 Review: The Secrets She Kept

From Goodreads:
Exciting, emotional, intense. The thrilling follow-up to New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak's highly acclaimed The Secret Sister. The things that happen in families are always surprising and sometimes shocking!

The rich and powerful Josephine Lazarow, matriarch of Fairham Island, is dead. The police say it's suicide, but Keith, her estranged son, doesn't believe it.

Keith bears scars—both physical and emotional—from his childhood, but he's worked hard to overcome the past. After walking away from his mother and her controlling ways five years ago, he's built a new life in LA. He's also accumulated a fortune of his own. But as soon as he learns of his mother's death, he returns to Fairham. He feels he owes it to his grandfather to put the family empire together again—and he's determined to find his mother's killer.

Problem is…coming home to Fairham puts him back in contact with Nancy Dellinger, the woman he hurt so badly when he left before. And digging that deep into his mother's final days and hours entails a very real risk.

Because the person who killed her could be someone he loves…

My Review:
Yeah, I absolutely loved reading this book! I loved the first book (and all of Brenda Novak's writing!) and was really excited to read this book, and yeah, it lived up so much to the promise of a great book, and yeah, that was really great!

We met both Keith and Nancy in The Secret Sister. They weren't the characters that book focused on, but they were in this book, and yeah, it was great to continue their story in this book! And that we got to check in with the other characters-like Maisey and Rafe's young son!

In the previous book, there wasn't an active case that was going on. That wasn't the case this time-their mother is dead. And of course Josephine had more secrets then hiding the existence of her oldest child that she thought was dead!

The ending was really satisfying! The little clues came together, and the bad guy was caught! And some other things, like the truth of a relationship, because there was more then what met the eye there! And the happy ending for Keith and Nancy!

Such a great book, and I'm conflicted on a 3rd book-more time on this island with these characters, but who would lead, and that there'd be more conflict for them!
