Week 19 Review: Network Effect

From Goodreads:
I'm usually alone in my head, and that's where 90 plus percent of my problems are.

It calls itself Murderbot, but only when no-one can hear. It's a private joke. Funny.

It doesn't care, it tells itself, and its attachment to the humans around it is merely professional obligation.

It tries to never drop the F-bomb.

"Friends."

Ugh.

So, when its human associates (not friends, never friends) are captured and another not-friend from its past requires urgent assistance, Murderbot must choose between inertia and drastic action.

Drastic action it is, then.

Another F-bomb.

"Feelings."

Ugh.

My Review:
This book was so fantastic! I really enjoyed the novellas, but having a full length novel with Murderbot was fantastic! That we got to hook up with ART again was fantastic, and there was well, a lot of drastic action! So fantastic to read about!

This book morphed into a couple of things over the course of the book. Like in the beginning, it's a kidnapping situation. And then it's a learning and hacking situation. And then there's more action, and it all flowed together really well, the pacing was great-even if there wasn't action in the middle, there was still a lot going on!

I felt bad for pretty much everybody involved, they drew the short end of the stick. And this whole story of a planet that was colonized pre-CR, and then the CR colonized, and then going to be recolonized by a corporation, well, it's just a lot to handle. And then the was the alien artifact messing with things.

We did have a really interesting development, with 2.0, and when that thing with Central happened, that was a bit hard to read. But 2.0 was really interesting to read about, and that combined with the little excerpts that we'd been getting sprinkled throughout the story, really came together really well! And it did have a pretty satisfying ending, so that was really great!

This was a really wonderful read, and if we get more of this series, I would be really pleased and thrilled!
