It's find retribution or die trying in Shining Smith’s ultimate challenge, from the author of the "Jane Yellowrock" and "Soulwood" series.
Shining Smith and her crew have obtained the weapons they need to rescue one of their own from the grips of their mortal enemy, Clarisse Warhammer. But to mount an assault on her fortified bunker, they have to cobble together an army of fighters.
That could be the biggest battle of them all.
Shining will need to step back into the biker world she left behind to broker an uneasy peace, then lead rival factions into a certain death trap. Can Shining take Warhammer down without having to compel more and more people to do her bidding? And will her feline warriors, the junkyard cats, remain loyal and fight alongside her? Or will Shining have to become something and someone she hates, so that vengeance can finally be hers?
My Review:
This was such a fantastic read! And it wraps up the story with Clarisse Warhammer, but this world is so fantastic and interesting, and there's so much to explore, that this series could go on, which I'm really hoping, because it's so interesting and addicting to read!
Shining is in a pretty good position after the previous book, she has all this equipment, and is building connections with the various biker gangs. The only thing is getting everybody to work together, to actually take Clarisse down!
There was plenty going on, what with gathering information and dealing with allies, who are infiltrated, having been taken over by Clarisse. And there's some cat politics and scheming, and it was all so great to read! Oh, and some romance drama!
The way things ended, yeah, that was really satisfying, for her to be taken down, and for Shining to have that position in the world. If we do get more books, maybe dealing with the aliens? That would be so fantastic!
I loved reading this book, and if we get more, I'll definitely read it!
