It's been months since the ghost of Anna Korlov opened a door to Hell in her basement and disappeared into it, but ghost-hunter Cas Lowood can't move on.
His friends remind him that Anna sacrificed herself so that Cas could live—not walk around half dead. He knows they're right, but in Cas's eyes, no living girl he meets can compare to the dead girl he fell in love with.
Now he's seeing Anna everywhere: sometimes when he's asleep and sometimes in waking nightmares. But something is very wrong...these aren't just daydreams. Anna seems tortured, torn apart in new and ever more gruesome ways every time she appears.
Cas doesn't know what happened to Anna when she disappeared into Hell, but he knows she doesn't deserve whatever is happening to her now. Anna saved Cas more than once, and it's time for him to return the favor.
My Review:
This was such a fantastic book! So good, and as what comes with being second in all things-besides kids, because kids are human (and maybe other things, but I can't think of them right now)-this book is better then the first!
Oh, Cas, was in a low spot at the beginning of this book! But then his friends snapped him out of it, and then they got serious. And things happened, we got more of this world, and more of these characters, and it was just excellent!
Anna's had a tough run of it. First her life, was decent till the near end to end, and then her afterlife, well, the first book was called Anna Dressed in Blood for a reason! And now she's in hell, and that's not fun at all!
That ending gutted me. And Cas. It was hard, and it was bittersweet, but it was right. And things ended better for her then the last book! She is dead after all, and there's nothing to change that fact as of yet. And probably ever. Besides the moral husbandries, there's the practical ones, if we figure out how to do that!
Yeah, this was a really fantastic book, I just loved it a lot, and now I can't wait for Kendare Blake's next book, Antigoddess! It sounds awesome!
